Karibu sana Zanzibar! Volunteer in Zanzibar is a program for volunteer work on the spice island Zanzibar/Tanzania under German, English and Swahili speaking direction and founded in 2014 by the officially registered tours & safaris company Karim Tours Ltd. in cooperation with the German volunteer organization Praktikawelten. Right now there are the following projects in the historical UNESCO world
heritage of Stone Town offered:
- Nursery
- 2 Primary Schools
- Baby Day Care Center
- Football Academy
- Private Hospital
- Governmental Hospital
We offer two projects in Nungwi (north coast) as well:
- Nursery
- Turtle's Aquarium
Many of the local institutions are understaffed and therefore thankful for and dependent on any voluntarily support during their daily work! During your time in Zanzibar you will face a huge number of new situations, a new culture, a different language and fascinating people. We are sure you will master everything well and feel comfortable with the African spirit soon. Be open-minded, interested and respectful all the time and the warmhearted, wel-coming Zanzibarian atmosphere and people will impress you quickly.
