Hi folks,
You may be thinking how long is this girl hibernating for?
Well, I have seen the blossoms and first daffs and yes, I too have risen. I am back on the Botanic Shed School of Nature platform with two upcoming online events in February and March (check the website for details)
To be fair I have also been beavering away, growing the business on the garden design and consultancy side which I love and that also helps me keep developing the School of Nature.
I am the Head Gardener in 7 large private gardens now. I also support the gardening teams at some incredible properties. I have recruited a team of 8 gardeners who help me work across these gardens and I consult and report on projects. I have an apprentice who is studying at Sparsholt College (there’s a fun story behind finding Charlie to do with my dog and sausages...).
I design and manage garden renovations and source all the plants and style floral displays (using natural materials like logs and moss as much as possible).
My fave spot for garden therapy is my job at England’s most beautiful Old Rectory because I love its kitchen garden, Snowdrop and Magnolia collection, and its arboretum (voted by Savills in a Country Life Magazine competition). I also love the owner because we share a love of food as well as plants!
Best of all I get to discuss design plans with Tehya, my 23-year-old daughter who most of you will know, is my total inspiration.
Gardening has the power to counteract negative feelings and bring balance into our lives. Being in nature has a calming effect and it’s no surprise that it improves our gut biome and our mental health.
I love nature deeply and I know that a mutually compassionate and respectful relationship with her is key to the good health of the soil, our souls, and the planet.
I have done some profound work with plant spirit connection early in year (with mistletoe) and I am studying more to take part in working towards restoring the earth to its natural balance.
I hope you enjoy the snippets I share this year. Let me know what you think.
Our next event is a Women's Circle on 29th Feb at 7.15...please share with the ladies in your life who love plants and holistic healing.
