How I found Paradise....

This is the view I first saw in 2002 when I came down to Nice to look around the area with the vague idea of buying an apartment. I only came for three days, had never been to Nice before and had not heard of Villefranche. I saw a couple of apartments in Nice and then was told of a ‘special apartment’ for sale in the Old Town of Villefranche sur Mer which was ‘twice my budget’. “If it’s that special”, I said, “ I must see it!’ As we drove around the the bay my eyes nearly popped out of my head at the beauty and amazing light of the area. My mind was already buzzing as to how I could raise the money. By the time we arrived in the village even before I saw the apartment, I had come up with a plan. I was enchanted by the village, the cobbled streets, the citadel, the views and just about everything. As we entered the apartment on Rue du Poilu and up the three flights of stairs I was greeted by a sight that took my breath away. Without a doubt I knew that I had to buy this apartment. The view alone is priceless. I can’t say the beginning was easy, it was a hard for a year or two as I had to sell my house in London and move to Villefranche to carry out the renovation of the apartment. By renting the apartment occasionally I could supplement the cost. As time went on, I met and made many friends who asked me to handle the rental of their special places.

So that is the story of how Villefranche Vacation was born.
