Dear FB friends,
Do you live or work in or near a biodiversity area? If yes, then please take a moment to complete this simple questionnaire - it's mostly multiple choice and who doesn't love that?
This questionnaire is relevant if you live or work in or near a biodiversity area.
I am currently working on a paper about the impact of tourism/human activities and biodiversity, including human-wildlife conflict and potential reparations. This is a sensitive and difficult subject as without humans coming into contact with biodiversity, they are unlikely to place any value on its preservation and conservation. And yet, it is the coming into contact with biodiversity that causes negative impacts. This paradox remains unsolved and sustainability is unlikely to achieve much unless there is a fundamental shift in our perceived dependencies on biodiversity and that requires far more work to detail risks and opportunities.
I hope that the outcome of this survey will help organisations and communities understand their dependencies on biodiversity and to begin re-framing their biodiversity-community relationships around co-dependencies and long-term value creation.
Results will be shared with respondents who have completed the entire form.
Many thanks in advance,
Robin
