OVERSIGHT. Research shows that objective prenatal care oversight improves the quality of care received and contributes to overall cost containment. Buffalo Childbirth & Parenting is a private birth service. Our work is independent of the rules and regulations of your prenatal care provider, your birth space and your insurance company. We strive to form professional bonds with these team members but we do not work for them, we work for you. With our objective oversight of your care, you can ensure you’re receiving responsible, high quality service from your team members. In the US, 1 out of 3 childbirth experiences are perceived as traumatic. Studies show that it is not the events that take place which cause the perception of trauma, but the inability to make informed decisions regarding those events. To prevent this type of trauma, Buffalo Childbirth & Parenting builds bridges between the members of your prenatal care team. We want you to understand the decisions you make and acknowledge them as your choice. By coordinating care and communication with your providers, we'll navigate your birth process together to make sure you receive the care that feels right for you, care that you can own. HANDS ON CARE. Having continuous professional support by your side during labor and birth is known to improve birth outcomes; shortening labor time and reducing the use of unnecessary medical intervention. Close mentoring throughout your pregnancy lays foundation for hands on support during your labor and the birth of your baby. Aimed at enhancing a birthing family’s experience, our hands on doula care includes direct physical, emotional and environmental support to increase your safety, confidence, comfort and relaxation.
