A vast country that sits land locked between Russia and China. Three and a half million people living, working and surviving in some of the toughest conditions on earth.

They're a happy nation and always welcoming of people , a multi-party democratic country, a new nation as of 1995. Rural industry’s as in camels, sheep, goats and horses are big business but Mining is winning the day in dollar return to the country. Big drives, long views in a wide open country with faces of intrigue and adventure.

The Mongolian Camel or the Bactrian is its real name. This is the two hump camel that just loves the cold, minus 40c no problems at all.
The Bactrian camel is very much a big part of the Mongolian culture and way of life, its milk, meat, transport and entertainment play a big part in the Nomads world. The Bactrian camels are directly related to the single hump camel or the Dromedary but the Bactrian is only 18% of the total world camel population. Winter time is when they look absolutely magnificent, such a proud noble animal.

A Yurt or Ger is a portable round tent, covered and insulated with skins or felt, framed with light timber and carried across the vast endless lands by camels. For the nomads of Mongolia these Yurts are their travelling homes, their shelter in minus 40, their grand palaces in their exotic way of life. A single stove, in a single room where everyone sleeps. A simple life for a proud group of people that have lived unchanged for many many years.

The Nomads of Mongolia are a proud race of people with history going back beyond the Khan empire. They live with the land, moving camps 2 to 3 times per year, they travel with camels, sheep, goats and horses. It’s a tough life for the nomads from minus 40c to plus 40c, little income and tight family groups, all chasing the meaning of life and survival. In some ways it can be seen as an exotic and remote way of life when you compare to the western world, but the Nomads of Mongolia play a big part in the development of a relatively new democratic country as they are spread far and wide and have a deep cultural link to the Country.

Do you know anyone that would like to teach English in Mongolia for 6 weeks. It would be an incredible life experience living in a tiny remote village and teaching young kids. Accommodation and food is taken care of and some money towards an airfare is provided. The people are very very friendly, and the school is a modern new facility. The photo attached is on the front steps of the school when we visited. This could be a heck of an experience and make a huge difference to so many young people. This is what the Western Australian Government and the Federal Government of Australia are doing. They call it "Lay to Waste" Killing is an ugly word for the polys. We are a spoilt country and its far easier to slaughter and let rot on the ground instead of engage. in a sensible logical answer....and there is one, But our decision makers in this country have their eyes wide shut and who are we to argue the toss with these geniuses'.....and I have tried many many times.
