The Combat Studies Institute (CSI) under the Combined Arms Center (CAC) at Fort Leavenworth. enture which collects, transcribes and displays the firsthand recollections of the soldiers, service members, government personnel and civilians who have planned, participated in, observed and supported operations in the Global War on Terrorism.

General information

The OLE Project provides oral interview support, transcription, archival support services and web site, modification, and administrative support to Combat Studies Institute (CSI). The contractor team is responsible for the coordination and conduct of oral interviews and a selected number of video interviews, the transcription of oral interviews into both digital and paper copies suitable for storage in the Combined Arms Research Library and the selection of interview content for web-based delivery, and the integration of this system with other systems including the Battle Command Knowledge System (BCKS) professional forums. The vast majority of the interview subjects are students at the Command and General Staff School (CGSS), who are encouraged to volunteer for the program in order to meet a media relations requirement. Approximately 5-10% are volunteers or are command-invited participants outside of CGSS.
