This home was by far one of the nicest properties we have stayed at with plenty of space for our group of 15. The house and yard were very clean and well-maintained. It was stocked with everything we needed for a great vacation including numerous welcome gifts. The overall location was perfect, it was a short walk to the beach and close to restaurants and shops.

We love our furry friends and how they also enjoy the beach but starting this Friday they need to be off the beach by 10:00 am and can come back after 5:00 pm. This now includes Fish Haul Beach Park and Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park beach access.

In about 36 hours, your Sea Turtle Patrol HHI will begin monitoring our beaches for sea turtle nests!!! During nesting season, it’s very important to leave the beach clean, dark, and flat. While it may be fun to dig holes or build sandcastles, these obstacles can be dangerous for sea turtles.
Holes left on the beach can entrap nesting adults. A sand structure can scare a nesting female and might make her turn back to the water. Later during hatching season, the hatchlings are vulnerable to falling into holes. 😩A trapped turtle is vulnerable to threats like predation and heat exhaustion, which can lead to death.
Next time you’re at the beach, remember to fill in your holes and knock down your sandcastles before you leave and please remove your beach supplies!! Help us protect these incredible species and their environment throughout the season. We thank you and sea turtles thank you.

Ran into the Sea Turtle Patrol this morning rescuing and releasing baby turtles that were stuck in their sand nests. These volunteers help turtles while educating beach goers about respecting their nests and the beach these turtles have called home long before we got here!
