Mafunyani Village is a traditional Shangaan tribal village. Located in the Greater Timbavati region of South Africa, close to the Kruger National Park.

At Mafunyani Village you can expect to learn the traditional way of life of the Shangaan Culture. You will experience a night full of traditional life, including a tour of the village, a traditional Shangaan meal (which you will eat with traditional forks aka your fingers!!), and the night will conclude with traditional tribal dancing and music.

Thanks to all the special and awesome souls who supported and donated to the go fund me page for the Mafunyani's renovations. The process has just kicked start and one hut waiting for some thetches to be placed in it. Thanks to Lee on running the page and transferes it has helped a lot and we on our way to get things rolling, pity rain and death distrupt us a bit but we are strong through your prayers and love.....God bless you all and see you all again with lots of love and smiles.

U have been there for us, made us laugh, made us dance and for most enjoyed playing soccer with u. we joked, partied, drunk and had fun always when you were around us. you were loved and respected and whoever needed you oh you were there in a second. we love you and we will miss u lots sipho killer mdaka...rest in peace. Hi all! A lot of confusion had happened in the donations campaign with go fund me. It was stated to me very late that this campaign i signed in was only for the Usa people not South african and already at that time donations were send to the account.

Mafunyani Huts before and after the the fire..all the hard work on renovations and the fire just took it all away and more renovations is hardly needed to keep mafunyani back on a good shape....

A bad start of the year 2015 for the Mafunyani and Khoza Family. Crissis and tragedies, On the 08 January around 13h00 four huts burnt down an unexplainable issue. A neighbouring resident hire two boys to burn some grasses on his property next to the village, around 12h30 the boys started burning and left the fire unattendent. few minutes later the fire moved from the property towards the village and catched one of the huts trough the reeds next to the huts. One of the community memeber saw that the hut was burning and informed one of our nepwes, he rushed to see what was happening and when he arrived the second hurt was burning from the left to the right. he went inside the house to safe few things but the fire was too much only saved a dust bin,2 dancing shields, spades and one shavel.

He informed close by memeber and the family but when averyone arrived for huts were arleady on fire, we tried stoping the fire from burning the other huts and the veld.Lots of things where burnt: chairs,tables,nets,matresses,pots,dancing costumes,drums,parrafin lamps, wheel barrow and other small items. Its a painfull and stressing week for the family as most of the huts were just being renevated through the help of Katrine pett. We hoping for a speeding recovery and please prayers for the family for strength will help and guidence....thanks
