The Cape Lion Has been spotted on Schotia!

In 1842, in the Cape Of Good Hope, it was decided that due to its incredibly thick hairy mane, the Cape Lion should be considered its own subspecies.
However in 1858, it was said that the Cape Lion was completely exterminated because of human habitat encroachment, and was considered to be extinct.
In 2017 scientists concluded that the cape lion was too closely related to the rest of the examples found all over Africa. Lions in colder climates naturally evolved to have more and thicker mane hair than those in warmer climates. Hence why people thought they looked different.
With Schotia being a colder region, we have always selected the male lion with the most mane hair as the dominant pride male.
As of July 2023, we have introduced a new male and two females that show almost identical features as the once roaming Cape Lion.
