Some of the places the birding tours take us give us the opportunity to view other species. An Image taken a while back in the middle of the day. The Harsh sunlight made metering a bit of a challenge. I decided to overexpose the image and create what is known as Hi Key. These 3 lions were moving down a road towards some shade on the edge of a dam wall.

From time to time you just happen to be in the right place at the right time. On a trip to the Central Kalahari in the south at Molosi Pan. A bateleur was drinking and was chased off by this white Backed Vulture. A great sighting and memory from years ago.

Imagine Askham circa 1940s. One of the narrow streets in the centre of the village, lined with Kerkhuis/church houses. Small little houses used by the farmers when making the long journey to attend the once a month church service held in the dorp/village. The weekend would tie in with the koshuis/boarding house for the kids allowing the families to spend the weekend together.
