With the status of the critically endangered African Penguins very much in the news lately and people asking what can we do to help the penguin plight? The increasing human activities at Stony Point Penguin Colony - Betty's Bay Stony Point Penguin Reserve, Betty's Bay where we can still make an obvious difference (all inside the official fenced off protected area supposedly meant for #penguinsonly ) are getting out of hand and is very much concerning !
# Mega tourist busses sounding like aeroplanes before take off
# visiting schools aload running and screaming
# the many mega noisy sucking suzies sewerage trucks pumping
# the mega noisy rubbish trucks needed twice per week
# the restaurant's daily noisy aircon for serving fish and chips also for conservation gatherings contemplating the penguin plight and fishing stocks
# the mega cell tower with aircon room buzzng and generater for power failures
# the daily staff traffic of cape nature and restaurant
# and lately the boat club turning into a very active social club with mega outside lights, lots of cars parking everywhere, even a party blasting till long after midnight ..

At one stage this week the boat club's generater, the cell phone tower's generator, and outside garden service's war machines all at the same time on in #penguinland
#Noisepollution and #airpollution created by this generater at Stony Point Penguin Colony 's cell phone tower where #penguinliving and the well being of the #endangeredAfricanPenguins and other seabirds and wildlife on #penguinland should be priority
and what about at least using a silencer as required by law #MTN ?

Hackers of the Kogelberg Heros lead by Edward Silberbauer in the early 2000 ..with amongst others former veterans Penny Palmer and Avril Nunn and Jill Atwill in the Sunny Seas area where the highly invasive New Zealand Christmast trees are flourishing.
Hackers of the Kogelberg also kindly removed a few monsters around Stony Point Penguin Colony last year
This generator has been left running here at Stony Point Penguin Reserve, Betty's Bay 's super cell phone tower plant since Sunday night non stop ! Not natural peacefull living friendly by any standards for any living well being including the #endangered African Penguins at #capeunnatural 😱👾🤖☠️

this short video is about how the beautiful piece of open land called the 'Brodie Link' between Betty's Bay and Pringle Bay came about in 2006 thanks to the Brody Family and Oyster Catcher beach watcher Ursula Heysen, Avril Nunn, Dr Allan Heydorn and dr Kas Hamman contributing to #biosphereliving in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve Betty's Bay Living Pringle Bay Rewilding Betty's Bay Ratepayers' Association Betty's Bay Conservancy Conservation Focus: RooiEls, Pringle Bay, Bettys Bay and Kleinmond made by Hermien de Vos &Johann Botha for 50/50 sabc2
This insert was made in Afrikaans by Johann Botha for 5050 in 2005 about the Overstrand Municipality's clearing of fynbos plots and road verges and the spreading of very invasive kikujoe grass and lawn making created in the process .. now many years later and the effects of the desturbance created already almost everywhere to be seen also in Bettys Bay and Stony Point ...and yet again the Overstrand Municipality now in october 22 even created a new policy to win their battle against Fynbos in the #fynbos kingdom of the world and in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve - of which Overstrand Municipality signed the agreement of in Jan 99 as custodians. The effects of the habitat loss can also be seen and felt around Stony Point Penguin Colony - Betty's Bay where the little natural remains in between houses and road verges are the only options left for penguin and bokkie and tarrentaal en fisant
