Calcrete can only be produced from healthy, luminous Chardonnay grapes or vines nestled in the limestone soils of the Bonnievale / Robertson Valley.

Die Kliphuisie

Die Kliphuisie offers rustic, no-fuss self catering cottages situated on the banks of the Sonderend River near Bonnievale, Overberg, Route 62

Die Kliphuisie offers 2 lovely self catering cottages, surrounded by the majestic foothills of the Sonderend Mountains near Bonnievale. Guests can enjoy hiking trails that promise breath-taking views and a laid back atmosphere with candles and a cosy fireplace. Set on a farm, you can indulge in outdoor activities such as bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, star gazing, swimming, fishing and loads more!

Die Kliphuisie is pet friendly and perfect for nature lovers. If you are tired of city noises, this is the place for you! The 2 cottages are 400m apart.

It is a safe environment, 22km to the nearest town, Bonnievale & 38km to the historic town, Swellendam. Your sedan vehicle will get you here, BUT please note that there is a 16km gravel road and we have no control over the conditions.

Kliphuisie Cottage

The cottage has one double bedroom. In the open plan living area there is a couch that opens into another double sofa-bed. You are also welcome to pitch a tent. There is a kayak and paddles that guests are welcome to use. Although there is no electricity or technical equipment, we offer you Fish- and Martial Eagles, various owls, lesser game birds, many smaller birds, small game, frog- and cricket songs, outdoor hiking trails and wonderful night skies.

Die Boskliphuis

Sleeps 8 people in 3 bedrooms,2 bathrooms, you can also rent the small wooden cottage next to the house, solar lighting, pizza oven and inside fireplace. Situated on the bank of the Sonderend river, close to Die Kliphuisie.

Bookings can be made from 2 – 6 guests at Lavender Cottage or 2- 4 guests at Die Uilhuisie or 12 – 50 Guests at The Stables. The luxury stable-rooms were once horse stables, which were recently converted into uniquely designed en-suite units, each with their own quirkiness, sleeping up to 50 guests.

We provide secure off-street parking behind locked gates, warm hospitality and excellent service. On request a full Farm Breakfast can be served which includes yogurt, cereals, fresh milk, tea and coffee. Eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, freshly baked farm bread and local cheeses and preserves. Dinner can be served on prior request and we can arrange “braai” packs for those who want to braai and make use of our dining venue and fully fitted kitchen area. (Group Bookings)
