Construction work to rebuild the Usasaza and Dunoon MyCiTi stations is planned to commence on 10 September 2024 and continue until March 2025. Both sites will be cordoned off and the dedicated MyCiTi lanes joining the two stations will be closed during this time. Passengers travelling on routes T01, T04, D05 and D08 are advised of possible delays and to factor in additional travel time, especially during the peak morning and afternoon periods.

Routes T01 and 104 will be affected by road closures from 18:30 until end of service on Saturday 7 September due to the South Africa vs New Zealand rugby match at the DHL Stadium.

Traffic delays are anticipated throughout the day in the city centre and Green Point areas. Please factor in extra time for travel and plan your journey in advance by downloading the MyCiTi app.

We are pleased to announce that most fares will decrease from 1 October 2024 in response to the sustained drop in the cost of fuel. The City of Cape Town’s annual budget requires an increase or decrease in fares when the cost of fuel changes significantly. This is in order to protect passengers from paying too much if the fuel cost is reduced and also protects the City from ongoing losses if the cost continues to increase significantly.

Five new stops are proposed as part of a planned realignment of route 216 to serve the Parklands north area and to connect with Table Bay Mall.

This changes also means that
• the Humewood and Devonshire stops will no longer be served.
• the Blaauwberg Hospital, Waterville and Nantucket stops will no longer be served by route 216 but will continue to serve routes 213, 215 and 223

A free shuttle service will run from the Cape Town International Convention Centre at the City Sightseeing bus stop and from the MyCiTi Civic Centre station.

Passengers on routes T03 and 214c can expect some delays from the start of service on Saturday and Sunday, 24 and 25 August 2024 until lunchtime. This is due to the Blouberg Marathon taking place in the area.

Route 104 will be affected by road closures for the PSFA Blisters for Bread event in Green Point on Sunday 25 August 2024.

The Somerset Hospital, Granger, Mouille Point, Surrey, Lighthouse and Three Anchor Bay stops on route 104 will be unavailable from start of service until 13:00.

Please use Rocklands or Waterfront or catch the 108, 118 or 109 routes from Main Road.

Here are some events on the MyCiTi footprint this weekend.

Travelling from the Civic Centre:

Celebrate iconic female figures in the arts and culture industry at the “Legends in Harmony” show by taking any route to the Civic Centre station and a short walk to the Artscape;

See the Addams Family, musical style, by taking a bus on route 261, 262 or D08 to the Estuaries stop;

Watch some of the country’s best Squash players at the V&A Waterfront Centre Court by taking a bus on route 104 to the Nobel Square stop;

Take the family on a ride to see the wonders of the Zip Zap Circus at the Dome by taking any route to the Civic Centre station and a short walk to the venue next to the Artscape.

Passengers using the Neptune station may be affected by roadworks from start of service Saturday 17 August until 18:00 on Monday 19 August 2024.

During this time, buses on routes T01, T02 and D05 will not be able to dock at Neptune station in the direction toward Table View. This is to allow for the planned repair of a manhole.

A stop and go system will be used to accommodate affected buses on the red lane serving the opposite direction. Passengers will board and disembark a few metres away from the station and will therefore need to tap in and out on the bus. MyCiTi staff will also be on hand to assist affected passengers to access the bus and tap in and out.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

The road construction project underway in Atlantis affecting routes 236 and 246 will soon shift to the next phase. As a result, MyCiTi services will be affected as follows with effect from 5 August 2024:

Route 236

The following stops will become operational again:
• Sparrebos
• Newlands
• Montezuma
• Insiswa

The following stops will be unavailable until further notice:
• Clearwater – please use Deerlodge or Malvern stops
• Brutus (direction toward Atlantis station only) – please use Saxonsea Primary stop on routes 233/245.

Route 246

The following stops will not serve on Route 246 until further notice:
• Deerlodge
• Malvern

Passengers affected are advised to use stops along route 236 to access Atlantis station.
