Another great day on Table Mountain!

One of my favorite routes ✅

A great group of hikers ✅

The perfect weather ✅

Los of fun and adventure ✅

A group hike up the infamous but not-as-scary-as-you-think, India Venster. Most of the group had never hiked the route before and there were a few nerves, but with the right tips it’s not as bad as they thought. The clouds also added some epicness to already stunning scenery.

Thank you all for joining 🙏

If you would like to hike this route either in a group or as a private hike, get in touch.

Looking forward to guiding another private group there next week 😎

Last week I had the pleasure of looking after a great group of hikers from the US for

We spent three days hiking together, covering classics like Lions Head and Kasteelpoort to the top of Table Mountain, but also venturing further afield to hike in Mont Rochelle near Franschhoek.

Our tour finished with us enjoying a coffee at together.

Hi friends and followers,

There is a HUGE wildfire burning in the precious
It has already been burning for a week and is showing no signs of slowing down despite the huge efforts by fire crews, volunteers and locals.

The fire is spreading, has burnt a significant area in the North, and is currently at the Pakhuis pass but also as far south as Tafelberg.

The origin of the fire is unknown at this stage but what is important right now is getting additional support to the brave firefighters, helicopter pilots, volunteers, and locals.

Please consider donating any amount you can that can be used for drinking water, snacks, eyedrops, food, and for longer term support of the local villages, some who now have no drinking water.

PLEASE SHARE THIS FAR AND WIDE🙏

Cederberg adventures just hit differently.

The place gets under your skin, in your blood and becomes part of your soul. Or is that just me?

This last weekend was no different. An epic crew joined me for an overnight adventure to the iconic Wolfberg Arch.

The whole group opted to cowboy camp under the stars for their first time also ☺️

The pictures say it all.

Next group starts hiking to the Arch on the 4th of April, contact me to be a part of the adventure.

After a busy start to 2025, it was time for a little post season break with my favorite human

I can’t stray too far from my beloved mountains so this year we headed to Grootvadersbosch for some tranquil forest vibes.

Refreshed and revitalized, ready for an exciting few months ahead!

It’s was a great week with a nice variety of trail hiked in Cape Town!

From classics like Platteklip and Lions Head to more spicy routes up Table Mountain, with some tranquil Orange Kloof in the mix also. All shared with great clients, friends and fellow mountain guides.

Super grateful to be able to call the mountains my office, but also grateful to be able to share the ‘office’ with so many amazing likeminded humans.

It’s going to be a busy few months coming up with….

trips to the including the ‘Keeping it Wild’ weekend and another bash at the Cederberg Grand Traverse!

Plus a load of awesome local adventures and our first international adventure with a trip to hike the Lycian way with friend and fellow guide

It’s going to be an epic adventure, make sure you’re a part of it!

We recently added some ‘beginners’ hikes to our schedule.

These aren’t boring hikes, they are great routes with gorgeous scenery.

They are are shorter routes, maybe with less ascent or technical ground, where we take a slower pace and offer more coaching on training, what gear to have and how to use it.

These are some of the photos taken by the group on a recent beginners hike in the Cape of Good Hope reserve.

If you’re keen to join and be a part of the adventure, get in touch or join our WhatsApp broadcast group to see all of the hikes that are coming up. Yup, link is in the bio.

I don’t always cook when I’m hiking, but when I do you know it’s going to be special.

I’m normally a fan of lightweight, fast, nutritious meals from ountrycuisineza (the best freeze dried meals in SA) but with a hike to Groot Winterhoek that’s a bit easier than our usual multi day trips I felt that some ‘gourmet’ cooking was in order.

Thanks to , I could cook and still be as light as possible!

Breakfast was a cinnamon bagel from toasted in the titanium frying pan topped with cream cheese and jam, with freshly brewed using the french press (which fits perfectly in the Toaks 650ml and 750ml titanium pots)

Lunch by the pool was a meze platter of biltong, hummus, crackers and crudités, served in the Toaks titanium plate.

Dinner was sirloin steak cooked medium rare in the Toaks titanium frying pan, served with a Moroccan spiced cous cous, olives, and a village style salad, accompanied by a nice red wine

Tips for cooking with titanium:

Season the pan like you would cast iron with a high temp oil, I used coconut oil.

Use plenty of oil when cooking.

Go for a medium heat and try to distribute the heat as evenly as you can (I used a stove with a wider burner than my usual Pocket Rocket).

The results, delicious.
