Exploring Cape Point at Buffels Bay. A lovely morning with awesome dive buddies, but we didn't see a whole lot of life other than the flora. What we DID see was a greyish blue Hagfish, an eel-like marine predator and scavenger.
On our recent clean-up in the Hout Bay harbour. We pulled up some smelly trash! π³

An uncommon and beautiful sighting, just as we were lamenting having not seen any sharks on this dive...the white, spotted Smoothhound. Watching it swim with that slender and graceful body, it sure was a special encounter!
Getting back under the water, after a long break, has been a great experience for many in Cape Town this past week. Stormy weather and illness have kept us out on land for weeks!
Here's to many exciting ocean adventures this spring and summer.
Why not join us, at In Between the Kelp, for a tour or on a course?

Greens, blues, Red Romans too.. it's always lovely to meet a Red Roman or a bunch of them. Somehow they seem to be in a league of their own. Bright and curious, they're always fun to follow around.
We have not posted anything for a while! The diving conditions have been rubbish, and we have been itching for a dive for weeks! Just watching footage brings an aching longing to get in the water and commune with the ocean creatures. Soon, dive buddies, soon. Until, then, let's practise and train and get those lungs ready for some deep drops ππππͺΌπ¦π
Exploring the "cold side" at Oudekraal/Cozy beach. Clear water, great dive buddy company and fun swim throughs!
Windmill never disappoints πππ
Following a gorgeous Pyjama shark on our dive this last Saturday. We were helping out at the Rise From the Cape Flats Snorkeling event which happens annually. It's always such a special day!

What a wonderful watery world β¨
An unexpectedly lovely dive with sightings of a large short-tailed stingray and several octopuses.
Yes, we do tours right through the year! The cooler months are the best for underwater visibility. R700 includes gear rental: freediving open cell suits to keep out the cold while you take in all the sights!
