Following the historic supply route from Phillidelphia to Paternoster, birding, wildlife sightings, windfarms and beautiful flowers .

WESTCOAST WEEKEND TOUR

DATES:

Tour starts every Saturday and offers the option of a one day or a two day tour with overnighting in Paternoster (Tieties Bay).

We all meet in Philadelphia (just off the N7) at Die Malle Meul Restaurant at 08:30 where we can all enjoy a coffee / tea etc.

At the meeting we discuss a short rundown of the day ahead and every vehicle gets issued with a two-way radio for on the road communication / info sharing.
We depart around 09:00

The tour follows the old supply route along the railway tracks all the way to Darling and on to Tieties Bay.

Along the way we stop for a breakfast/leg stretch where everybody is welcome to make their own breakfast (gas stoves only) according to their individual dietry requirements.

We visit some of the interresting little curios/restaurants in Darling for a small rest break and some retail therapy. For those who want
Light lunch at Route 45 Waterhole (fully Licensed)

We continue on to Tieties Bay and normally arrive there around 16:00 in the afternoon of Saturday. For those only doing the one day option, this is where we part after saying our goodbyes and returning the two-way radios.

For everyone participating in the two day tour, we overnight at the Sea Shack and all enjoy a dinner at the excellent See Kombuis.

On Sunday after breakfast we depart around 09:00 Back to Tieties Bay and on to St. Helena.
The tour ends with lunch at Alegria restaurant where we can enjoy a well deserved lunch and say our goodbyes / return our two-way radios.

From here we all disperse in our own time back home.

WHAT WE CAN EXPECT TO SEE:

- Flower season is starting and this route offers a multitude of flowers and vistas

- Variety of wildlife along the way

- Birding is also very good on this tour and we regularly see Flamingos and a huge variety of wetlands birds and other birds.

- We stop at the windfarm for a leg stretch on day one

- Many interesting sightings and forgotten places along the way.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING ALONG:

1. Preferably a 4x4 vehicle (not a necessity) or a vehicle with reasonable ground clearance.

2. Your own food / snacks /picnic and drinks. A vehicle camp fridge goes a long way in keeping these fresh if you have one available.

3. Flashlight.

4. Camera and binoculars (remember extra batteries).

COST:

- One day tour R800.00 per vehicle

- Two day tour R950.00 per vehicle

NOT INCLUDED:

- All accomodation, food / restaurants.

- All fees for National Parks etc.

- All extra curricular activities you want to participate in.

WHAT IS INCLUDED:

- Professional and experienced overland guide for the duration of the tour.

- Emergency roadside assistance.

- Two-way radios for on the road communication / emergencies.

- We can assist in all bookings for overnight accommodation / restaurants.
