A fairytale on ice.
Imke Meintjes and Jesse Wollenschlaeger, two adventurous souls with a penchant for the wild, have made history by becoming the first female couple to tie the knot at the Schirmacher Oasis, a stunning and remote deep-field location in Antarctica.
The ceremony, held against the backdrop of Antarctica's breathtaking landscapes, was an intimate affair attended only by the couple, their wedding officiant, and a photographer. Surrounded by pristine ice lakes and bathed in the ethereal glow of the Antarctic sun, Imke and Jesse exchanged vows that spoke of their unwavering commitment to each other. To celebrate their devotion for each other, they popped a bottle of champagne and then slowly, hand-in-hand they walked over the ice to the frozen lake where they shared their first dance, mesmerised by the magnificent chandeliers of icicles formed off the ice sheet.
A truly monumental moment that we are grateful to have played a role in.
