Our cable cars will return to service on Wednesday, depending on weather conditions. All our commercial activities at the upper and lower stations will also be back in service. We thank you for your understanding while investigations into last week’s fire continues.

We can confirm that the flames and fire was contained to the garage and did not reach the machinery that operate the movement of the cable cars, and it is safe for us to resume service. If you were not able to make use of a ticket you had bought, please remember that there is a window period in which to use it. You can apply for a refund if you prefer. Our free birthday ticket offer will be extended into November – if your birthday was in October, you will have extra time to make use of your free return trip.

🚧Notice: Lion's Head Maintenance🚧

Dear Visitors,

Please be informed that on Thursday, 24 October 2024, our contractor will conduct a pull test on the ladders, staples, and chains at Lion’s Head from 08:00 to 14:00. During this time, access to the middle ladders, staples, and chains will be restricted. We kindly ask hikers to use alternative footpaths to reach the top.

We’ve been seeing lots of Dassies on the mountain lately! While they may look adorable, please remember to admire them from a distance. Avoid touching or feeding our furry friends to help keep them safe and the environment balanced. Thanks for respecting the wildlife!

We receive many questions about the ongoing roadworks and limited parking on Tafelberg Road.

We know you want to enjoy your time on the mountain, not in traffic! Due to ongoing roadworks and limited parking, we recommend using our Park and Ride shuttle service from the Lower Station parking area or exploring alternative transport options to ensure a stress-free visit. Plan ahead and make the most of your day at Table Mountain!

Pick up point: Lower Tafelberg Road Parking lot
Drop off: Lower Cableway Station

The shuttle operates between 7h00 to 19h00 for visitors and it can transport 22 visitors at a time.
