Hi All!
I'm putting the final touches and spruces on my website which'll surely professionalise my entire life and make me the pre-eminent heritage-focused walking tour guide in my 13 sections of Cape Town...
But my whole goal in starting the tour enterprise has also been to promote a 'Local Is Lekker' ideal and get more Capetonians and tourists supporting charming and historic Capetonian places, people, artists, writers, museums and brands. So on the site I'm going to have an online shop where visitors can buy Cape Town books of all sorts and tons of small Cape Town brands as support and souvenirs...

SO IF ANYONE RUNS A SMALL CAPE TOWN BUSINESS or knows someone who does or has written a book or made anything related to the city that they want an online sales outlet for, please DM me or WhatsApp on 076 033 8164 x

I'm too excited! x

Want a date to the Prom this Sunday?
You can join a whole troupe x

From 14h00 (and again neeeext Saturday), we're going to spend two-hours-and-change in wandering Cape Town's very own Sunset Strip, launching from the quaint shade of the old Round Church intersection and the mid-afternoon snacks of the Atlantic Express to absorb everything in our path before making landfall by the candy-cane stripes of the Green Point Lighthouse near the back of the Breakwater.

In the meanwhile we'll tour more than five centuries of the tidal swell of humanity upon these granite shores, swapping sights and seeing stories of the Flying Dutchman and the shipwreck capital of the world, tracing the lineage of mariner families from every ocean, comparing starkly beautiful landscapes of the first great seaside estates in the country's history, revealing the military sagas of our private modernity in the shadow of Fort Wynyard, showing off the tracks of the old tramways that used to be as synonymous with the city as the Noon Gun, and paying homage to the Khoisan, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Cape Malay and Jewish ancestors who first bestowed the space with its world-class cosmopolitan credentials.

With the Atlantic Seaboard gentrifying quicker and quicker by the hour, there's no better time to grab a pair of my nostalgia-busting goggles and come down to see this iconic quarter as if for the first time, in its entirety.
Remember your sun-screen, your flip-flops, your towels, your curiosity, your open-mindedness, your memories, your invites for your friends and your love for Cape Town's potential!

As Michelle Trimborn rates it:
"I love these cultural tours. There's a diverse range of people attending, the pace is good and the information is FASCINATING. Get your steps in and your city-love up. I look at Cape Town with new eyes now.❤"

See you then, RSVP DM Me!

P.S. If you've read this far I'm guessing you'll want even more of the specs, so here goes:
- We'll be starting by the Atlantic Express Restaurant and finishing by the Green Point Lighthouse just over two hours later, so happily do a two-car system, park in the middle or (lord forbid) take the MyCiTi bus the whole day to everywhere.
- We used to be donation-based but to secure our future we're now doing a pre-booking system whereby you can guarantee your tickets beforehand at R120pp, or you can join the tour on the day for R150pp in cash or EFT et al. If you are only a temporary Capetonian, the prices go up by R100, but if you write me a review afterwards or argue successfully that we're all technically temporary Capetonians, I might waive the tariff... Regardless, simply WhatsApp on 076 033 8164 or Message us via the buttons on our home page to secure your place.
- This is a consistently well-reviewed heritage-focused walking tour; which is to say that all you'll need to enjoy yourself is curiosity about Cape Town's past (and History in general) and enough stamina to walk just less than 3km in one afternoon (with stops and snacks).
- If you're rejoining us, please please please please please please consider dropping us a short (or extensive) review on our Facebook Reviews or Google Reviews section as it will help spread our gospel of curiosity and playful appreciation across the internet and across the spectrum of all potential visitors to the Cape. It helps us more than you can believe!
- We've also introduced an optional R10 donation on your ticket which will go directly to the NGO Streetscapes as part of our mission to spread love, enthusiasm, mutual support and respect for all of Cape Town's people and histories. Just think how many people we could help and the difference we could make with a few hundred tours!
- Feel absolutely free to spread the word, invite friends who've been looking for this kind of experience and badger us with every imaginable heritage query. We live for it!

Can't wait to meet ya, really!

Please join in for a community Beach Clean up this Saturday! The continual high seas, strong winds and rain have caused some havoc on the beaches with litter. There is cleaning from the City, Pristine Earth Collective and Project Hope. But we calling on all residents to come along and assist with this big Spring Clean.

As a token of appreciation, Crumbs & Cream and Norfolk Deli are generously offering a free coffee or ice-cream sandwich voucher to each participant as a small way of saying thank you for making a big impact.

See you on Saturday.

Good food, fine wine, fun festivals, music, theatre and workshops… Here’s where to go and what to do in Cape Town and the Western Cape this weekend.

"‘My naam is Februarie: Identities Rooted in Slavery’ - on exhibition at the Iziko Slave Lodge - brings into memory the forgotten history of slavery, where even the names of those enslaved were stripped away and enslaved people were renamed by the month they arrived at the Cape of Good Hope.

The purpose of the exhibition is not to showcase ‘The History of Slavery’ in South Africa, but to continue to drive awareness about a poignant part of our history that is all but forgotten. It is aimed at enlightening the present generation with interesting historical events that has shaped our society.

If you’re looking to join in on the Mother City's thrift culture but aren’t sure where to start on your retro-fashion journey, Cape Town has a vast menu of wonderful little thrifty gems scattered across the city.

Moving your feet is a great way to release the week's tension, ease your mind and re-centre yourself for the upcoming week. You can walk around your neighbourhood when it's safe to do so, but if you have some extra fuel in the tank to spare, Cape {town} Etc compiled five great spots to drive out for...

Thank you endlessly to Sioux McKenna and the rest of today’s troupe whose enthusiasm made this edition of the CBD tour my favourite one I’ve done so far!:
“[J]ust wow! Fascinating insights into the past. I cannot recommend this walking tour highly enough. We did the CBD one but now i want to do them all. It felt like stepping back in time. Even if you've lived in Cape Town your whole life, you should do this.”

Onwards to celebrate the Springboks’ clincher with a wander around the V&A Waterfront tomorrow afternoon, starting from Ferryman’s at 14h00!

- We'll be starting by Ferryman's Irish Tavern and finishing by the Table Bay Hotel just over two hours later, so happily park in one of the many mall garages or (lord forbid) take the MyCiTi bus the whole day to everywhere.
- We used to be donation-based but to secure our future we're now doing a pre-booking system whereby you can guarantee your tickets beforehand at R120pp, or you can join the tour on the day for R150pp in cash or EFT et al.
