Oxalis everywhere. The lower sections of devil's peak are littered with them at the moment. Although very common, they are still wonderfully photogenic and stunning to see.

Today was a day for Watsonia's. The Table Mountain Watsonia is out in full bloom currently, turning entire slopes into a haze of pinky/purple :)

I have settled back into normal life again after an epic trip with , and .

So it's official! Of the 28 semi-finalists, I have been chosen to go through to the finals. I will be 1 of 14 riders competing in the starting 1 Nov. I feel honoured, privileged and lucky to be riding with an awesome group of people.
Thanks to and for this once in a lifetime opportunity. The way I see it, it is not just a chance to ride a sweet machine in some spectacular places, with great people, but it is a chance to learn and grow. I can't wait!
And I can't forget to thank and for giving me the time off to realise such a dream.

Something a little different from the flowers and hiking I know, but these past few days I was lucky enough to take part in the bootcamp for the upcoming Honda Quest. It was three days of tasks and test on 28 budding adventure riders, hoping to be selected into the final 14.
What a privilege it was to make it make it this far, now I just hold thumbs and hope I did enough.
Thanks to and for the opportunity to ride such an awesome machine with a cool bunch of people in such a stunning part of our country.

The Saucy Dog as it is known, is a welcome sight on reaching the top of the Three Firs route up Table Mountain. I love these cooler, wetter days in the mountain. No people, just me and nature.

After a ton of blood, sweat and tears, my wife Lee ( ) qualified for . It is the regional qualifying event for the Cross Fit games. Often people don't see the personal sacrifice it takes to get here, but it has finally payed off.

Snapped these cluster disa's some time back. They are little sneaky's, in that they mimic a necter bearing iris (Tritoniopsis triticea), to attract pollinators. The sneaky bit is that the cluster disa gives up no necter to hungry butterflies.

Photographing King Proteas this morning and this little guy gate crashes my shoot.

Orange breasted sunbirds are prolific pollinators of a variety of protea's, ericas and geophytes in and around the Cape fold mountains. Males are brightly coloured, whereas the females are a dusty olive/brown. They are also very vocal and generally were not worried about me being so close and shooting their breakfast.

First attempt at a star trail shot. Focus was not were it was meant to be, but it part of the learning. The second shot was me setting up and trying to find the right composition.

Really enjoyed my Vivobarefoot Magna Trails on my midweek hike. Went up Left Face Mystery B and down Platties. It was cloudy and wet, making route finding interesting and slow going, but fun nevertheless.
