🏆 Third Annual Manyeleti Sports Tournament - A Huge Success! 🏆

This past Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting the third annual Manyeleti Sports Tournament, and what a fantastic event it turned out to be! Special thanks to Ernest, Vestment, and Anna for their incredible planning and ex*****on.

Here’s a quick recap of the highlights:

🎉 Veterans Exhibition Match: For the first time, we introduced a veterans match, with the Honeyguide Madalas defeating the Manyeleti Masters by 1-0!

⚽ Finals:
• Ladies Soccer: ABSA Academy (Hluvukani) 4 – 0 Hornbills (Welverdiend)
• Mens Soccer: Flying Birds (Hlavekisa) 1 – 0 Wondrous (Welverdiend)
• Ladies Netball: Shooting Stars (Welverdiend) 16 – 3 Hlalakahle (Hlalakahle)

With over 400 spectators attending this year, it’s clear that the tournament has become the premier sports event in the area, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see such amazing local support. A huge shout-out to all the players, spectators, and our amazing staff for making this event a resounding success.

Looking ahead, we’re excited about possibly introducing a youth development program with a school league in next year’s tournament!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that as of July 1st, Albatros Travel Africa has acquired a new lodge at the stunning Entabeni Game Reserve (only 3 hours from Johannesburg). The lodge will be rebranded as Honeyguide Conservation Lodge and will join the prestigious Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps - Khoka Moya & Mantobeni Portfolio, which currently includes four safari camps in South Africa and Tanzania. 🌍✈️

Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps, located in the stunning Manyeleti Game Reserve in Greater Kruger, is on the lookout for a passionate Camp Manager to lead our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee all lodge operations to deliver an exceptional guest experience that reflects our service vision. • Manage front and back of house departments, ensuring high standards and cost-effective practices. • Train and mentor staff to uphold company standards and enhance guest relations. • Facilitate effective communication across departments, staff, guests, and management. Just a typical round of golf in Africa. Naturally, we'd be trying to score an albatross but this is an even rarer golfing achievement – the triple giraffe! An unforgettable moment when the spectators wanted to get a closer look at the putting action at Vipingo Ridge golf course on the Kenyan coast.

An unmistakably African wildlife scene. Elephants drink from a watering hole and zebras bathe beyond, with birds providing the soundtrack. Another moment from our trip this month to Honeyguide Tarangire Camp, a stylish safari accommodation nestled in a stunning yet secluded area of Tanzania.

What's more impressive than seeing an ostrich, the world's largest living bird? Seeing a whole group of them! We continue to look back on memories from our safaris, with this piece of footage taken at Tarangire in Tanzania last year.

On safari in Amboseli National Park, Kenya. It goes to show that the Masai Mara isn't the only place to watch wildebeest river crossings in East Africa!

Our guests on safari were treated to quite a spectacular altercation between two of natures gentle giants. While Elephants are usually peaceful animals, females may be aggressive when young calves are present and bulls can be exceptionally aggressive during musth.

There's nothing more exhilarating than sitting on your balcony while on #safari and experiencing the roar of a Lion. We're struggling to see them, but we can definitely hear them. How about you?
