Eruption has started North-east of Grindavík. The town Grindavík, the area around it and roads in the area are closed. Please respect the closures and stay away from the area while the area is being assessed.

The effects are localised and have not caused any problems regarding Keflavík airport.

It's pride week in Iceland 🌈
Reykjavík Pride is an annual event celebrated since 1999 and this year it is celebrating its 25th Anniversary.

There will be a number of fun events all throughout the week 🥰

One of the main events - The Reykjavík Pride Parade will begin at 2 PM this Saturday, August 10.

There’s a few must-see Pride locations including: 1. Samtökin 78 Community Center 2. Kiki Q***r Bar 3. Bravó 4. The Reykjavík Rainbow Museum

It is the busiest weekend for campsites around the country because many Icelanders use the last public holiday (Commerce Day, 5 August), to spend camping and enjoying nature before heading back to schools and offices.
