My wonderful guests from Wisconsin have truly embraced everything Cape Town and its surroundings have to offer, despite the unpredictable weather! 🌦️🦌

From wine-tasting at Delheim, Rus en Vrede, and Waterford Wine Estates, to braving the winds along the Cape Peninsula and spotting the majestic Bontebok at the Cape of Good Hope, their adventure has been nothing short of spectacular.

We also spent an insightful day immersing ourselves in the rich culture of the San Village at !Khwa ttu, along the West Coast, learning about the deep heritage of South Africa's first people. What an unforgettable journey!

I had a fabulous tour over 2.5 days of the Cape Peninsula and Cape Town with Brenda. She had a fabulous wealth of knowledge of the area and beyond and took me to places the local population enjoys so I could get a sense of the lifestyle. She provided excellent suggestions on what to do in my free time as well. It was like visiting the area with a very knowledgeable best friend.

Did you Know? Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town in South Africa. 🇿🇦

The plateau, flanked by Devil's Peak to the east and by Lion's Head to the west, forms a dramatic backdrop to Cape Town. This broad sweep of mountainous heights, together with Signal Hill, forms the natural amphitheatre of the City Bowl and Table Bay harbour.

It is home to a large array of mostly endemic fauna and flora. Its top elevates about 1000 m above the surrounding city. The flat top of the mountain is often covered by clouds, formed when a southeasterly wind is directed up the mountain's slopes into colder air, where the moisture condenses to form the so-called "tablecloth" of cloud. Legend attributes this phenomenon to a smoking contest between the Devil and a local pirate called Van Hunks.

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway takes passengers from the lower cable station on Tafelberg Road, about 302 metres (991 ft) above sea level, to the plateau at the top of the mountain, at 1,067 metres (3,501 ft). The upper cable station offers views overlooking Cape Town, Table Bay, Lion's Head and Robben Island to the north and the Atlantic seaboard to the west and south.
