Great news!! Yesterday our government scrapped all Covid related regulations. This now means no mask-wearing and no travel entry requirements. So you no longer need a vaccine certificate or PCR test to enter South Africa 🇿🇦. Welcome!!

Trevlig feedback från mina första kunder på väldigt länge :) :
Hej Karin!
Det blev en fantastisk upplevelse för oss. Nedan några reflektioner.

Natasha (vår chaufför till och från lodgen) är en mycket allmänbildad person med goda kunskaper om allt. Man kunde fråga om allt som gäller Sydafrika.

Lodgen i Madikwe passade oss perfekt. Vi fick bara säga till om att vi gärna delade på portionerna.

Vi var för det mesta bara 4 i jeepen. En gång var vi 6. Som mest bodde det 8 personer på vår lodge.

Vi såg ett antal djur från vårt hus vid vattenhålet utanför fönstret. Kanske hade vi det bäst belägna huset (nummer 3)?

Personalen var underbar och showade dessutom en kväll i samband med att vi åt kring en eld utomhus.

Vi såg alla big 5 förutom leopard -- vi såg i stället gepard, vilda hundar och eland (älgantilop). Det fanns mycket vita noshörningar och även någon enstaka svart. Många hade ungar.

Internet fungerade klanderfritt.

Fint att du skickade boardingkort. Tipping-guiden var också en bra sak att ha.

Vi kommer varmt att rekommendera dig och din resebyrå.

Last week I got very spoiled to a yummy breakfast followed by a helicopter flip to the Waterfront by 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa. So beautiful to see Cape Town from above.

Next stop on my trip was Franschhoek. I stayed at the very beautiful La Fontaine Boutique Hotel which is just a short walk from the main road. If you are a real “foodie”, Franschhoek is your place. The restaurant options are endless. I decided to try the rather new Oku Asian Eatery. Wow, wow, wow!! Lovely decor, amazing staff and food to die for. I still dream about the food.

After Malmesbury, I continued up to Paternoster. I was welcomed by stunning weather and lots of humpback whales 🐋 in the bay. Too far out for photos sadly. Here I stayed at a fairly new guest house called Gonana. What a gem!! Best location, friendly staff and tastefully decorated. Ended off the day with a great dinner at De See Kat.

Dear Safari Tails followers, it’s been a long time since I posted something as the pandemic made our industry come to a stand still. But now we can finally see the light at the end of a very long tunnel. I therefore went on a little inspection trip last week to check on some new guesthouses and restaurants. My fist stop was at a farm just outside Malmesbury (45 min north of Cape Town). Here I stayed at the lovely Abbotts Hill. This place is on a working farm where they make wine. They also have rescue horses and donkeys.
We had Jim Hunneyball as our guide. Jim makes his own wine and also took us to another wine farm for some tastings. I just love the old school charm in this area called Swartland. The vine makers are real characters. Jim’s knowledge about wine, history, nature and wildlife is amazing! He also speaks fluent Swedish.

Yesterday I took a drive in to Cape Town to have a look at the new Kloof Street Hotel. Slick and modern design, but still welcoming. On the roof there is a nice pool and a restaurant with great views.
There are lots of other great restaurants on Kloof Street too.
