Flying over the African rainforest. It's vast and wide stretches appear to still be intact. This is the expanse of the Sangha Trinational, a World Heritage Site for its outstanding biodiversity. It covers 750,000ha or nearly 3,000 square miles across the three countriesof Cameroon, Republic of Congo and Central African Republic.

Forest Elephant

We recently had the privilege of boating the pristine rivers of Odzala-Kokoua National Park. Our .africa guides made the most of some perfect conditions to deliver a superb elephant sighting on the river bank. Add in great company, the elusive Pel's Fishing Owl, funky fish, a magnificent Congo sunset and you have a near perfect afternoon safari.

World Gorilla Day 2023.

Aerial shot of a magnificent wild silverback in a natural rainforest opening (bai). The incredible conservation work of continues to inspire us.

The sizeable Lowland Gorilla population in the Republic of Congo is a testament to the work of all conservation partners in the region. As a visitor to this remote region, the chance to encounter these magnificent mammals is real and the experience surreal!

Green lung of Africa.

We're headed back to Odzala in Republic of Congo! We'll be moving from vibrant Brazzaville on the banks of the Congo River to this rainforest wilderness. We're excited for the big mammals like Forest Elephants and Forest Buffalo to Lowland Gorillas and some incredible birdlife to mention just a few.

With the teams from .africa and we'll be in great hands!

At first glance you would think it’s a leopard!

A mother cheetah and her two cubs have kept our guests entertained over the past two days with playful sightings.

It’s always a treat when our Mammoth guests get to see cheetahs while on safari - cheetahs are seen way less often than lions and leopards in this part of the world!

World chimpanzee day is a celebration for over 60 years of research and conservation led by Jane Goodall, dedicated to protecting chimpanzees and their habitats throughout Africa.

Africa is a destination Mammoth Safaris specializes in. Uganda is one of our favorite destinations and is a very popular destination for our guests who want to experience chimpanzees and mountain gorillas in the wild.

On a recent trip to Uganda, Keegan got to experience and photograph chimpanzees in the Kibale National Park. The Kibale National Park is home to over 1500 chimpanzees, making it one of the best destinations in Uganda for our guests to see chimpanzees.

In the Serengeti, this male leopard, who had killed two young wildebeest was extremely well concealed in a thicket right next to the road before our guide Karipoi's sharp eyes spotted him. All we could see between the foliage were rosettes so we decided to move further away and wait a bit

A while later he emerged from the cover of the thicket and moved quickly across the recently burnt ground to watch us from a distance

On safari, patience and giving animals the space they need will reward you with a more enjoyable sightings and possibly a better photographic opportunity such as this one.

Finding this incredible endangered pangolin on our morning game drive not far from the Silale Swamp was the perfect start to the 'P' morning. We also had parrots, pelicans (flock of 200), a parisoma, pigs (warthogs), a praying mantis, Proboscideans (eles) all whilst enjoying Petit dejeuner (thanks ) in the bush! Thanks to the team for helping to compile the P list.

This is the view over the Chivilila Falls in Gonarezhou National Park. With big summer rain the Runde River is flowing strongly. On this safari we had all our food and gear packed by the awesome team @singita_ Pamushana and headed south into the park. It's not called the' Place of Elephants' for nothing and we spotted several herds and bulls along the way as well as from the viewpoint over the falls. It seems the hard work being put in by @gonarezhou and @frankfurt.zoological.society amongst others is restoring this very special corner of Zimbabwe. Sound up. Hot air balloon views of Lake Ndutu, sunrise behind the Ngorongoro Highlands and the Great Migration spread out below us as far as the eyes can see. Wildebeest, zebra, gazelles and eland dot the plains. Lion, hyena and the 'African Wolf' survey the buffet that lies before them. This is the experience of the migration on the green short grass plains of Serengeti and Ngorongoro. It is unique, very hard to put into words and almost unbelievable!!! Attention all Africa junkies! It's foot-stomping time!!!!! This is rare footage captured recently whilst on safari in remote southern Ruaha. A Four-toed Sengi is foot-stomping in the riverine thickets along the Great Ruaha River. Some great sleuth work by our team @cameratraps, guide Doug Bell, @insidedefari and @marievalstorp located a perfect trail for the camera to be set. Good viewing of this elusive and fascinating African mammal is uncommon, let alone seeing any natural behavior. This is where the cameratraps come into play.... This behavior is though to elicit a response from ants, allowing it to find its prey #podophony! If anyone has captured this footage before please let us know. This is just one of the exciting finds on the evolving Usangu Conservation Project. Safari in central South Africa's Great Karoo is not mainstream, but there are often good rewards for making the effort to get out there.
