Junior Travel Desk Consultant (Vacancy)
We are hiring a competitive Junior Travel Desk Consultant to join our amazing team at a 5 Star hotel in Cape Town, Western Cape.
The role is for a 6 months contract with a possibility of a permanent position based on performance.

About the role
The main purpose of this role is to provide an excellent front-of-house service for the organization. Creating a positive customer experience as well as fostering positive professional relationships within the workplace.
Travel Desk responsibilities:
• Acting as the initial point of contact between all guests, visitors and employees.
• Assist visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately and efficiently.
• Answer, screen and forward any incoming phones calls while presenting essential information when needed.
• Distribution of electronic correspondence, taking messages where appropriate, and directing accordingly.
• Excellent product knowledge in order to sell tours and transfers effectively and efficiently.
• Providing operational support and coordinating of vehicles and drivers/ guides.
• Providing administrative support to the hotel and Operations Department as required.
• Complete any other related clerical duties as may be required.
• Ensuring reception area is always kept clean and tidy.
• Adhere to required health and safety protocol requirements.
• Working hand in hand with the Guest Relations Manager and Reception Staff.
• Always maintain professionalism when engaging with guests, visitors and employees.
• Attend to Adhoc special requests.
Minimum Role requirements are:
• Matric/NQF4 certificate.
• Post Matric qualification would be advantageous.
• Competence in MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Receptionist/Concierge/Front of House
• Experience gained in a corporate environment or within the hospitality/ tourism industry front-of-house, e.g. Hotels, Tour Operators, Travel Agents, Airlines
• Competent Professional business written and verbal communications skills.
• The ability to express yourself clearly and effectively in at least two official South African languages, with English being essential.
• Professional, neat, and well presented for this front facing client role.
