Exploring Zanzibar
Exploring Zanzibar is more than just white sands and stunning beaches. Despite the rustic nature of the island, there is wonderfully intricate architecture and layers of history hiding down its many alleyways... like the famous 'Zanzibar' doors! Which are exquisitely carved masterpieces found throughout Stone Town on Zanzibar Island.
These historic doors, dating back over a century, are a captivating sight to behold during tours of Stone Town. Let us guide you around Stone Town's past and make the most of its scenic views.

🗣"Africa was the last stage of my journey. For 30 days we traveled over 9200 km. We visited South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia
I learned to set up a tent and sleep in it even during a storm. I flew a helicopter over Victoria Falls, an airplane over the Okavango Delta and the Namib Desert ⛈️
I had a close encounter with a lion in the morning and tried to take a selfie with a giraffe. I stroked a cheetah and tracked a rhino🐆🦏🦁🦒
I envied hippos and an elephant splashing in the water while the African sun was scorching. I slid my ass down Dune 45 and climbed another dune in Death Valley. I climbed Lions Head at sunrise.
I admired our truck, which was my home, African landscapes, endless desert, green forests, bush... Yes, Africa is not only deserts. Although the roads there can be arduous at times, it is beautiful in itself. Even our truck succumbed to its charm and we buried ourselves in the sand. Yes, sometimes it was hard, long drives, heat, short nights, but under a starry sky... is it worth it? For sure. Go see for yourself 🤩"

*eco-tourism is pivotal in maintaining protected areas for gorillas to thrive. Without the draw of gorilla trekking, the fate of these gorillas would likely be sealed by poachers. The management of these protective parks has been meticulous, especially in terms of facilitating interactions between tourists and the gorillas.
For instance, the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to 18 habituated gorilla families. Each family is assigned a maximum of 8 visitors daily, and each visit lasts no longer than an hour. This structured approach ensures minimal disturbance to the gorillas' lifestyle while encouraging a responsible form of tourism.
The economic dimension of this operation is crucial too. The revenue from permits serves as a consistent income source for park rangers, enabling them to maintain the Bwindi Forest and shield the gorilla families from various threats. This symbiotic relationship between eco-tourism and conservation efforts ensures not only the safety of the gorillas but also the preservation of the Bwindi Forest.
