Thana has recently experienced an extensive Ugandan adventure and she shares her incredible journey here:
Uganda is a treasure trove of extraordinary experiences! Starting out by spotting Shoebill storks on Lake Victoria, I headed up to Murchison Falls National Park which amazed me with its powerful waterfall and diverse wildlife, from hippos to crocodiles and more.

Flying south, the breath-taking Rwenzori Mountains—known as the "Mountains of the Moon"—greeted me. In Kibale Forest National Park, I encountered playful chimpanzees and marvelled at the park's rich biodiversity.
Queen Elizabeth National Park offered even more wonders, from the tree-climbing lions of Kyambura Gorge to a serene boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where I got up close to hippos, elephants, and Nile crocodiles.

My journey concluded in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where I trekked to meet the Mubare Group of Mountain gorillas. Spending time with these gentle giants was truly awe-inspiring. Before leaving, I had the privilege of visiting the Batwa community, where I learned about their history and enjoyed some exceptional black tea and single-origin organic coffee.

Uganda's diverse landscapes, rich wildlife, and warm hospitality left me with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for this incredible country.

“Pineapple House is simply too gorgeous! While the rooms are cosy, the space is utilized so beautifully.
Located in Sea point, it's just a short 200m stroll to , where we enjoyed dinner that evening. The views from the 9th floor were breath-taking, the food delicious, and the service impeccable. An ideal spot to enjoy summer vibes!

The next adventure was on Saturday morning where I joined a scheduled Langa township Tour with Camissa Travel. Despite the weather being cold and wet, there was a fortunate break in the rain, allowing for a meaningful walk through Langa. This tour offers a different experience, providing a glimpse into the lives of the residents—both the challenges and the incredible sense of community and it was a truly inspiring tour.”

Tarryn has returned from an incredible trip to check out the brand new Wilderness Mokete and was blown away!

The Camp was stunning with its beautiful décor and thoughtful touches like air conditioning and private plunge pools as well as your very own flap you can open at night to see the stars from your bed!
The meals were delicious and the team’s hospitality was top-notch.

But the wildlife? Simply unforgettable! From watching a pride of lions feast on a kill, to spotting cheetahs on the open plains, and even having a surprise encounter with aardvarks on foot and during a sunset sundowner— this place has it all.

The herds at the Mababe River were breath-taking, with elephants, buffalo, and even rare roan and sable antelopes making an appearance. And let’s not forget the bat-eared foxes and aardwolves! If you’re a wildlife enthusiast, Mokete is a must-visit.

Rebuilt with elegance while honouring their rich heritage and stunning natural surroundings, Wilderness Tubu Tree and Little Tubu have been thoughtfully transformed to reflect the island’s natural beauty. The guest rooms now offer horizon-wide views, with upgraded panels replacing some canvas walls for added comfort and insulation.

Nestled around a majestic anthill, the main area is built into the trees, showcasing earthy greys and beiges with splashes of green, and featuring gorgeous new saligna hardwood flooring.

Liam Tomlin's iconic is back with a stunning new look! The iconic spot officially reopened on the 7th August 2024, bringing a fresh vision to the iconic heritage building of his acclaimed Chefs Warehouse. The familiar charcoal-and-red signage welcomes diners back to a reimagined space.

With sleek stone walls, leather seating, a communal table, and a cosy wood-burning fireplace, the ambiance is both urban and intimate.
The revived global tapas menu offers "Tapas for Two" or à la carte options, featuring pescatarian and vegetarian dishes.

A beautifully stocked larder showcases homemade charcuterie, pickled waterblommetjies, and preserved artichokes. The restaurant offers a curated tasting menu at the front and an informal à la carte menu at the bar, championing local producers and zero-waste practices.

Sussi had the opportunity to dine there this week and was blown away by the exceptional food, ambience, and service.

“A quick 20-minute private charter flight from Nelspruit Airport to Arathusa airstrip made getting there a breeze. The three exclusive-use private villas, each accommodating up to 8 guests, offered an unparalleled luxury experience.
The main areas boast a spacious lounge, dining room, wine gallery, and a stunning swimming pool. We enjoyed fireside and starlit dining in the dedicated boma, surrounded by the sounds of the bush.
The 4 suites, with 2 interleading, are perfect for families. Spacious and well-appointed, the rain shower with open views of the bush was a standout feature.
The game drives were exceptional, showcasing the team’s commitment to sustainability with electric zero-emission vehicles powered by the African sun. The animal sightings were unforgettable.
Truly, a 5-star eco-luxury safari experience for the modern age!”

This past weekend, our team had the great pleasure of experiencing some of our favourite Cape Town properties.

Teresa enjoyed a night at in Camps Bay. She was impressed by the well-presented team, the warm and inviting atmosphere, and a delicious dinner at with impeccable service. It certainly lives up to its reputation! With both mountain and ocean views, you have both options to choose from.

Melissa spent a night at and it remains a favourite for our travellers, it hit the spot in terms of location, beautiful spaces and a generosity of spirit in their offerings to guests. She savoured delicious seafood dinner at , one of our best dining experiences offering a well loved dining experience by both local and international guests.

Sussi stayed at the beautifully renovated in a Rooftop Terrace Suite. She loved the stunning new look and feel of the hotel and said that the transformation is truly breath taking. Bascule Bar is looking very sophisticated and the refurb has added new life to this gem. Its great to have them back with a fresh new look but yet still with a charming team they have always been known for.

From city exploration in Brazzaville to gorilla trekking and river drifts, her journey was filled with unforgettable moments. Highlights included seeing forest elephants, trekking through the rainforest, and encountering a family of western lowland gorillas.

With Tawana officially open, is thrilled to share some of their latest images of their new camp in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve. The interiors and design pay tribute to the BaTawana Tribe, who have fiercely protected this natural habitat for years. Reflecting their tribal living and appreciation for this exceptional wilderness, the design emphasizes harmony with nature.

Teresa had the pleasure of staying at this past Saturday and shared her delightful experience with us:

"We had a truly wonderful stay at the Clarendon Fresnaye. The team made us feel incredibly special and comfortable throughout our one-night stay. Staying in the Premium Room with its stunning garden views was a treat, and even though the weather was a bit gloomy, we felt so cosy and at home. The breakfast was fantastic and set us up perfectly for our Table Mountain hike. The Clarendon team went above and beyond, ensuring we had everything we needed. From delicious afternoon hot drinks and cake to a wonderful complimentary lunch after our hike, their hospitality was exceptional."

Teresa then enjoyed an exhilarating private guided hike up the challenging India Venster route on Table Mountain with and loved every moment of their guided hike with Henning! His knowledge, skill and patience ensured their hike was a seamless and enjoyable experience with a lovely trail side tea. They used the Cable Car to descend and had an unforgettable time! Teresa and her partner, Mark, ended their staycation with a memorable dinner at enjoying an unforgettable steak dinner with wine!
