One of our initiatives is HOST LEVELS, established by our founder,

The idea is that everybody can do anything at Once, and the more you are able to do, the higher up you move in host levels! At ONCE you are not just maintenance, reception or housekeeping. You are empowered to be able to do anything!

Jeanine, our head of reservations, was curious as to how maintenance keeps the rooms in tip top shape.. She ended up spending the day in maintenance and doing some repairs under the watchful eye and with guidance from our maintenance manager!

Our Story

Once in Cape Town is an accommodation concept that straddles the line between three star hotel and energetic backpackers hostel. We are Fairtrade accredited which is a testament to the way in which we do business, sustainably and responsibly.

Located in the entertainment precinct on the vibrant Kloof Street, it is within walking distance from a variety of green parks, up-market restaurants, bars, fashion boutiques and grocery stores. Down the street, you'll find the popular Long street, famous for its bars and clubs. There you can find a bar for every taste, perfect to party all night long, but far enough from the noise of the city. Not in the mood to venture out? Fear not! Our relaxing back area with self-catering kitchen, outdoor fire-pit and meditation garden gives you space to work and chill.

We have 3 in-house restaurants - the burger joint, Hudsons; Today & Tomorrow - a vinyl music only spot which has the best pizza and coffee and Yours Truly our cafe/deli where free breakfast is served. Yours Truly cafe transforms into our hip bar for day-time merriment, and is open until 11pm. Local Capetonians love this place - perfect to meet local friends and known as a "Cape Town institution". Not to mention, we regularly host free in-house activities and events, and take locals and international guests to multi-day festivals around Southern Africa. Our A-team offers assistance with booking inclusive and local experiences to ensure you get that ‘Once in a lifetime’ memory.
