Crossway Kids had a talent show on Saturday 28th November 2015. The participants were great and the audience was amazing. These young kids are full of talent and we wanted to provide them with a platform to showcase their talents. :) please take a look at some of the participants:) God bless!

Day 2 of Holiday Club - So far so good :) A big thank you to all those who have donated food, sweets and sports equipment! We are so grateful for all the donations that we have received so far. On average we have just over 100 kids but over the next two days we see an increase. The kids are just happy to have fun activities to do :)

My dear friends, ICP has reached a turning point. We requested to de-register as an NPO as we struggle to maintain the required Board members. However, the work will continue. I am in consultation with another NGO that will hopefully take over the other challenges. Will notify once everything is settled.

A perfect day out with kids made possible by Roland! We are so grateful for their suport and for blessing us so abundantly! The day began with a trip to the Milnerton beach where we were met with the Roland team. The kids were split into colour groups and then took part in a team buliding sand castle competition. After all the fun and games on the beach,the kids went on to their next adventure: Two Oceans Aquarium. They were treated with a tour of the aquarium then settled down for a fulfilling luch at the aquarium, in addition they received party packets too :) After a busy but fun day, the kids and leaders returned back home. This day was such a blessing not just to ICP but to the kids, many of the kids have never been to the aquarium or get the opportunity to travel around Cape Town. God is always good to His children and we will never forget this great blessing he has given to us! :) Much thanks to Roland, Two Oceans Aquarium and the crossway leadership :)

From the 26th of December 2014 until the 1st of January 2015, the Calvinist Protestant Church hosted their annual end of year camp. Emmanuel Baptist Youth attended the camp in their numbers :) The youth thoroughly enjoyed the camp and we praise God for the work He has began in their lives - a work that He is faithful to complete! :)

On the 15th of December 2014, we decided to treat the older and wiser generation of our time. They were treated to Breakfast at Koinonia Restaurant, followed by a drive to Strand beach side where they had lunch at the Spur :) We need to look after the elderly and spoil them from time to time, after all they did so much for us :)

On December the 7th 2014, Christmas arrived a bit earlier for the kids involved in Crossway Kids :) The Christmas shoe box project took place that Sunday morning and blessed the hearts of many kids as well as their parents. We thank God for allowing us to do this :) We also thank all those you have been a part of this project, whether by donating a box or items. Much thanks to those who initiated the idea of the Christmas box :)

Awana has officially been replaced with a new name and look: Crossway Kids. The name symbolises our vision for the kids we work with, we want them to follow the way of the cross and to live for Jesus! We are thankful for the new t-shirts of the Crossway Kids leaders :) Lets continue to make a difference in lives of kids who are in need of love, care and Jesus :)

Please pray for the community of Manenberg. The past few weeks has been violent in the streets of Manenberg, lots of shooting, murders and stabbings have taken place. We pray that God may work within the lives of those who are lost and who need Him. We also pray for the safety of Crossway Kids and all those who we support in the community. This community needs more active policing and that is also something we are praying for.

A small update on Crossway Kids (Awana):
For the past few weeks Crossway Kids has been growing in numbers. The kids are eager to come every Friday to eat, play and learn about God. We praise God for the growth of the children and for keeping them safe through all the violence in Manenberg. Please continue to pray with us for the safety of the kids and for extra donations and hands needed. Feeding 80-100+ kids each Friday is not cheap. We see the need for feeding the kids as they come from households where food is a luxury. If you feel that you can contribute in anyway to the feeding of the kids please let us know! :) Help is always appreciated :) Thank you for those who have been supporting us! :) Our goal is to simply look after the Children of God's Kingdom and to be servants of God.

We give thanks to God for the great work that has done in Jason's life! After leaving school at the age of 17, this year he has decided to go back to school and complete his school career after accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Jason is 20 years old now and has done exceptionally well in grade 10, receiving 9 awards in total for his academic work and student council responsibilities at the School of Hope.
Let's continue to pray for such a diligent student, who lives in an area were the evils of gangsterism are rife. Pray also for the rest of the students that we sponsor who are currently preparing and writing exams.

This is what we are currently involved in at the moment, together with the youth at Emmanuel Baptist Church :) :

We are a group of young people living in Manenberg that endeavors to make a difference in the community in Manenberg, in conjunction with Insight Community Project (ICP) a local Non-Profit Organization (NPO) that works in Manenberg we are embarking on a Christmas Shoe box initiative. The objective of this initiative is to impact the lives of the children of Manenberg.
We are also actively involved with a local church in the community, the Emmanuel Baptist Church where we run a weekly program with the kids.

At our church, we have a children’s ministry called Crossway Kids. On Friday afternoons we facilitate a program with the kids, they amount to 100-120 kids and this number increases on a weekly basis. We feed the kids, play games with them and teach them about God in smaller devotion groups. However, there is a great need to do more and give more to these kids. Many come from impoverished homes where their basic needs are not met. Children are a gift from God and these children have been a great blessing to us.

These are some pictures showing small groups at Crossway Kids:

The success of this initiative will in part be as a direct result of your support and contributions.

To keep it practical the boxes will contain the following items:
• Soap
• Toothpaste
• Toothbrush
• Face cloth
• Clothing item
• Toy item
• Sweets

Other items needed are:
• Shoeboxes or Christmas boxes
• Wrapping paper (of any sort)
• Cellotape
• We will also need to print pictures of the children for the boxes

Donations are not restricted to the list above, we welcome any donations. You are also welcomed to share with us in handing over these gifts or visiting us at one of our Crossway Kids programs to see what we do. Your sponsorship and support will help us immensely. We are excited as to how much this will gladden the kids’ hearts, and at the prospect of seeing the smiles on their faces.

We thank God that the little girl who was ill, is now healed and back at Awana :) Praise God for his healing hand! And thanks for all the prayers and support!

We have recently heard that one of the little girls that attends Awana on a regular basis, has unexpectedly become paralyzed. The little girl is but only 4 years old and has her whole life ahead of her. Please pray for her health and that the Lord may touch her, and give wisdom for the doctors to find out what the problem is.

Also keep in prayer the rest of the Awana children and the leaders too. There has been a great increase of children at Awana and at times this has been challenging because of the limited amount of leaders and space. We hope and pray that God will provide all of the required needs.

This year our July holiday club took place during the second week of the school holiday. Holiday club was packed to capacity this year but there are no complaints about that. We thank our supporters such as Green'scool Old Mutual and as well as Woolworths. A special thanks to some of our church laddies for making some lovely breakfast and lunch for the kids. We thank the leaders for being AMAZING leaders and role models for the children. We thank God for blessing us with good weather and also for keeping us all safe. Please continue to pray for the children of Manenberg, violence still remains in the streets and they are so vulnerable to it.

The McCrae family had been visiting us (Emmanuel Baptist Church) for about 4 months. Their visit has really touched us all, they have been an inspiration to us all. On Sunday the 6th they arranged to take the youth girls, some youth boys and 3 couples, to a lunch banquet. It was a blessed day and we thank the McCrae's for all they have done.
