🐘 Did you know that a mother elephant's milk is extremely high in fat and protein.
Baby elephants nurse for the first 6 months, drinking, on average, 10 litres of milk a day.
Complete weaning from mother's milk can take 2 years or longer.
Thank you The Bushcamp Company for the above safari insights 😉

Combine Tanzania’s classic destinations the Serengeti & Zanzibar with Ruaha National Park for a truly diverse experience.
The secret behind Ruaha’s bio-diversity lies in the fact that it sits – ecologically – between East and Southern Africa, bringing together two main habitats: https://www.safari-online.com/ruaha-national-park-land-of-giants/

Multi-day walking safaris can now be experienced also in Kenya and, to make sure that you don’t miss out on any of Kenya’s famously good game viewing, they combine with traditional wildlife watching from a vehicle.
It’s not too facile to say you get the best of both worlds: https://www.safari-online.com/new-kenyan-experience/

Today we celebrate World Leopard Day!
African leopards are not only iconic symbols of Africa's wilderness but also play crucial roles in maintaining the balance of their ecosystems. Protecting them is essential for the health and diversity of Africa's natural landscapes.
Connect with Africa on a walking safari
Walking safaris combined with game drives in private Big Five reserves – what’s not to like? Walking safaris are considered best in the dry winter season but don’t discount the possibility of walking safaris in the summer months: https://www.safari-online.com/connect-with-africa-on-a-walking-safari/

An African rainstorm transforms the landscape, turning it lush and vibrant; colours seem to pop and the air feels fresher. Birds forage, while elephants play in the mud. The smell of wet earth, the sound of raindrops, and the cool air enhance your sensory experience. This is a chance to immerse yourself fully and appreciate nature in a different light. Rainy days invite us to slow down, reflect, and find peace in the sounds of nature. 🐘Footage credit @kelseyclarkphoto Repost Londolozi Game Reserve

The best time for #BirdingInAfrica may not necessarily be the best time for wildlife viewing – or for the best weather, in the sense of it being mild and dry.
Birding in Africa is usually at its peak during the #GreenSeason in terms of species number, density of birds and their behaviour – there’s a lot of birds and a lot of breeding during the Green Season.

Talk about sticking your neck out. For giraffes there’s more than one advantage to their substantial height:
not only can they reach leaves on high branches that most animals can’t get to, but their long necks also allow them to more effectively scan their surroundings for threats.
This giraffe kept a very close eye on this lion while it quenched its thirst at the ol Donyo waterhole.
