With this new stupid system, cannot post 2 videos together unless I create reels - grrrr - so will be posting, the same Ostrich, straight after doing his call, did his mating dance. It so wonderful to see the faces of guests, who are wheelchair users, who never thought they could ever go on a SAFARI in an open game viewing vehicle, actually experience this amazing trip of a lifetime. That part of the journey keeps my passion high and keeps me going on.

No matter how many times I go up Table Mountain with my guests, it's like the first time. I LOVE it. It has a very special healing and spiritual vibe. Just sit, be amazed and feel her presence all around you. Breath deeply and enjoy. Here is where Africa, gets into your soul forever. That beat your hear within, is the African drum of understanding the inner heritage of the fact that humans originated in Africa. Welcome home.

I've just had 3 of the most amazing couples on tour with me this year, as well as a whole family earlier this year, whose whole attitude to life was so inspiring. Many of us able bodied people could take a leaf out of their book. They made my "work" a breeze and made it as though I was taking family on tour. Stolen from a colleague...

A gentle reminder about why you are utterly exhaustedā€¦

No one I know began this year on a full tank. Given the vicious onslaught of the previous two years (letā€™s just call it what it was) most of us dragged ourselves across the finish line of 2021ā€¦ frazzled, spent, running on aged adrenaline fumesā€¦

We crawled into 2022 still carrying shock, trauma, grief, heaviness, disbeliefā€¦ The memories of a surreal existenceā€¦

And then it beganā€¦ The fastest hurricane year we could ever have imagined. Whether we have consciously processed it or not, this has been a year of more pressure, more stress, and a race to ā€œcatch upā€ in all departmentsā€¦ Every. Single. One. Work, school, sports, relationships, lifeā€¦

Though not intentionally aware, perhaps hopeful that the busier we are, the more readily we will forgetā€¦ the more easily we will undo the emotional tangleā€¦ the more permanently we will wipe away the scarring woundsā€¦

We canā€™t.

And attempts to re-create some semblance of ā€œnormalā€ on steroids while disregarding that for almost two years our sympathetic nervous systems were on full alert, has left our collective mental health in tatters. Our children and teens are not exempt. The natural byproduct of fighting a hurricane is complete and utter exhaustionā€¦

So before you begin questioning the absolutely depleted and wrung-dry state you are in- Pause. Breathe. Remind yourself of who you are and what you have endured. And then remind yourself of what you have overcome.

Despite it all, youā€™re still going. (Even on the days you stumble and find yourself face down in a pile of dirt).

Understanding brings compassionā€¦

Most of the worldā€™s citizens are in need of a little extra TLC at the moment. Most are donning invisible ā€œHandle with careā€ posters around their necks and ā€œFragileā€ tattoos on their bodiesā€¦

Instead of racing to the finish line of this year, tread gently. Go slowly.

Amidst the chaos, find small pockets of silence. Find compassion. Allow the healing. And most of allā€¦ Be kind. Thereā€™s no human being on earth who couldnā€™t use just a little bit more of the healing salve of kindness.

Today we added the Disability Icon on our web page!!
A small blue wheelchair icon pops up, click on it. A menu will appear to choose what help you need to navigate to what you require. Eg - Epilepsy Safe Mode, Visually Impaired Mode, there are quite a few to help you along to getting your holiday of a lifetime started.
A HUGE THANK YOU to ADA 4ME, who have been a blessing by providing this service on my website. I hope it helps my special guests have an easier time planning their " wish list", so I can design their special personalised tour.

The Dung Beetle doing its thing. Never had so much talking about dung ever! Maybe except when we took Elephant dung at Shamwari back in 1995 and made it look like a birthday cake for one of our guests as a joke. He said it was the best birthday ever, as he lived on an island near Oz, only inhabitant.
