Eight tons of apples donated by the Capespan Foundation to Mercy Meals and other feeding projects since the lock down started in South Africa. Thank you to Ansonette (Capespan Foundation) and all the volunteers who are selfishly lending a hand to pack and distribute food parcels and bags of apples to needy families.

What a privilege to be able to share... Thank you and !

Today ends in success!

With Marist Mercy Care’s projects in lockdown, a great concern of ours was the well being of the vulnerable children and adults we help in the Sundays River Valley.

With the help of our long time funder Capespan and Ansonette VanderMerwe, the Sisters of Mercy packaged over 200 food parcels and distributed them to families in Dunbrody Settlement, Langbos, Addo, and Valencia Settlement.

During the distribution, strict procedures were followed by all ensuring social distancing and general health care when delivering these parcels ensuring lockdown laws were adhered to.

Thank you to Sr Martha and Sr Breda, Joelene (Place of Mercy and Hope, Home Based Carer), Counsellor Dancey and his team who made the safe distribution possible. Also, thank you to Linda Salter and her two young boys Jay-Jay and Shaun who helped package all the donations.

We will be continuing distributions in the coming weeks and welcome any support available. As a registered Essential Service, our contact details can be found on our website

Capespan remembers with fondness the day in 2015 when we were fortunate to have Cheslin Kolbe wearing a Capespan Blue Hand (CSI) Rugby Jersey during the official hand-over to Villiersdorp Secondary School Rugby Teams! He managed to create "magic" for the excited aspiring rugby playing learners on that day. Likewise Kolbe dazzled us with his skills more recently playing in the Rugby World Cup - he could well be a leading contender to be named the World Rugby Player of the Year - together with a chorus of others, we second that and wish him all the best for the remainder of the Rugby World Cup Tournament!

Excellent! Capespan is proud to be associated the Wordworks and Twanette Acker, a talented Audiologist and Speech Therapist who spear-headed the Wordworks programme at The Valley Primary School in Durbanville with much success! She realised the value of having Speech Therapists trained in Wordworks methodology and actually submitted this proposal to focus these graduates' Community Service year work experience and practice, while at the same time having an impact in the literacy development of young children! Congratulations Stellenbosch Students!

Capespan supported the Citrus Growers’ Association of Southern Africa (CGA) in March 2018, by being a Silver Sponsor at the third biannual CGA Citrus Summit. Capespan Blue Hand (CSI) also sponsored two Agriculture students, to attend the summit, pictured here are student Khoncelani Shivambu, Charl du Bois - Capespan Commercial Executive: Africa and student Neil Ndlovu. The goal of the Summit was to bring together growers and other value chain role-players in order to gain information and deliberate on challenges and opportunities for the southern African citrus sector.
