Exploring the Panorama Route – A Journey Through South Africa’s Breathtaking Landscapes 🌿🏞️

Few places capture the raw beauty of South Africa quite like the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga. This iconic drive is a feast for the senses, especially in the lush green summer season when the landscapes come alive with vibrant colors, flowing waterfalls, and mist rolling over the valleys.

🔹 Blyde River Canyon – One of the largest canyons in the world and arguably one of the most beautiful. During the summer months, the canyon is at its most lush and dramatic, with waterfalls at full flow and panoramic views stretching endlessly over the escarpment.
Why visit in summer? ☀️🌿

🔹 The Three Rondavels – Towering rock formations resembling traditional African huts, these peaks overlook the vast Lowveld and stand as silent sentinels of time. Seeing them framed by bright green vegetation makes the summer view even more spectacular.

🔹 Bourke’s Luck Potholes – Nature’s own masterpiece, these cylindrical rock formations were carved over centuries by the swirling waters of the Blyde and Treur Rivers. The contrast of deep red sandstone against rushing water is truly mesmerising.

✔️ Waterfalls in full flow – From Lisbon Falls to Berlin Falls, the summer rains ensure a spectacular show.

• An adventure through Namibia •

Some of our clients recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the Himba tribe, immersing themselves in their rich culture and traditions. From there, they ventured to the towering Dune 45 and the surreal landscapes of Sossusvlei & Deadvlei, where nature’s artistry left them in awe. 🏜️🔥

Fabien from the production team recently had an incredible day out in with Marine Dynamics in Gansbaai, the gateway to the Marine Big 5 near Cape Town, South Africa.

The weather was perfect, with just a light breeze from the south, setting the stage for an exciting adventure. One of the main highlights of the day was the encounter with southern right whales, which they spotted 5 minutes after they started the tour. The whales were calm and relaxed, surfacing several times near the boat, giving everyone a close-up view. October is the perfect time of year to see these majestic creatures along the coastline, and they didn't disappoint!

After an amazing sighting they made a visit to the shark cage diving boats, where Fabien spotted some Bronze Whaler sharks gliding gracefully through the clear water. The visibility was excellent, making the experience even more thrilling.

At Dyer Island, Fabien also witnessed the endangered African Penguin, with some lucky sightings of a raft of them out at sea. The trip wrapped up with the awe-inspiring sight of thousands of Cape fur seals in Shark Alley, a scene that never fails to amaze.

Fabien has described his marine safari as "A unique experience and opportunity to see whales and marine life up close"

🌿 Just had an incredible experience visiting The Hidden Forest Wildlife Sanctuary in KwaZulu-Natal! 🐒 This place is home to some stunning monkeys, including Squirrel Monkeys, Capuchin Monkeys, Ring-tailed Lemurs, and Ruffed Lemurs, just to name a few.

It’s the perfect half-day activity from Ballito or uMhlanga, with serene trails and breathtaking wildlife all around. 🐾✨

A big thank you to Vijver and the team for organizing this amazing visit! Can’t wait to come back and explore more of this beautiful sanctuary.

🍷 The Rickety Bridge Estate Experience 🍷

We had an unforgettable day at Rickety Bridge Estate in Franschhoek, South Africa, we were invited to experience a full day of wine tasting and activities. From touring the Cellar to savoring the Estate Wine and Paulina’s Reserve tastings, each moment was exceptional. We explored the beautiful Manor House and Basse Provence Manor House accommodations and even got to try our hand at Sabrage—a thrilling and unique experience. The day ended perfectly with a delicious lunch at Paulina's Restaurant and an Icon wine tasting on the terrace. A big thank you to Rickety Bridge and Chloe Saville for their outstanding hospitality!

🌟 We just visited the newly refurbished Cape Grace, a Fairmont Managed Hotel in Cape Town, and were thoroughly impressed 🌟

From the stunning local artwork in reception to the luxurious pool bar and state-of-the-art rooms, every detail exudes elegance. A special thanks to Chantal for the insightful tour, and the delicious pastries and coffee that made our visit even more memorable. Cape Grace is truly a top hotel for those seeking luxury with a touch of South African charm.

We look forward to our next visit and to try out Bascule Bar & Lounge 🍸 as we missed it this time.

We just had an incredible visit to the brand new Pullman Hotel by Accor in Cape Town!

From the beautiful rooms with stunning views to the amazing pool bar and deck, this hotel truly embodies luxury and comfort. We also enjoyed a fantastic three-course lunch, thanks to the wonderful Shazia Classen, their Sales Manager, who gave us an awesome tour.

Each day was packed with visits and site inspections that immersed us in the cultural and natural wonders of the country. From exploring the historic landmarks of Pretoria to encountering majestic wildlife in Kruger National Park and witnessing the breathtaking vistas along the Panorama Route, every moment was fantastic and awe-inspiring. In Johannesburg and Soweto, we delved into the vibrant history and culture of these dynamic urban centers. Our trip not only broadened our knowledge but also fostered a deep appreciation for the diversity and beauty of South Africa’s landscapes and communities, making it both successful and incredibly enjoyable.

Another successful year at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2024!

Indaba 2024 was truly a spectacular event, bringing together the best in the tourism industry from across the continent. This year’s event, was a whirlwind of energy, innovation, opportunity and we were thrilled to be part of it.
