On the Sacred Plains of Uhud…

Today, we were transported back in time—back to a battlefield where faith triumphed over fear. It felt as though we could hear the clash of swords, smell the dust stirred by the hooves of charging horses, and witness the cries of devotion echoing through the ages.

This was no ordinary ground; it was a place where hearts were tested, sacrifices made, and blood spilled—all for the preservation of the noble Din of Islam. Standing there, one could almost feel the weight of their courage and the tears of their unshakable loyalty to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.

Oh Allah, make us worthy of such a legacy. Let us walk in the footsteps of these blessed souls who gave everything for You.

Alhamdulillah, We Have Arrived in Madinah

With hearts overflowing with gratitude, we have reached the luminous city of Madinah, the resting place of our beloved Rasulullah ﷺ.

The words of our Spiritual Guide, Shaykh Ismail Londt, have truly resonated with us. His heartfelt advice has prepared us mentally and spiritually to embrace the sacredness of this blessed city. As we step into the land where every stone and breeze whispers the love of our Prophet ﷺ, we feel an indescribable peace and connection.

🌿 An Emotional Send-Off to Our Umrah Group 🌿

Today, our group departed for the sacred journey of Umrah, and Shaykh Ismail Londt’s heartfelt words at Cape Town International Airport moved us all to tears. His dua was a reminder of the immense blessing of being called to the House of Allah and the privilege of visiting the beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

With humbled hearts, we ask Allah ﷻ to accept the Umrah of every pilgrim, to purify our intentions, and to envelop us in His mercy and forgiveness. May this journey be a source of spiritual renewal and closeness to Him.

Alhamdulillah, today Cape Town International Airport was filled with the buzz of eager Mu’tamirin embarking on their sacred journey to the Haramain. Tears of joy, heartfelt du’as, and the warm embrace of loved ones set the tone for this emotional send-off.

As they travel, we make this du’a for our beloved travelers:

دَعَاءُ الْمُسَافِرِ لِلْمُقِيمِ:
أَسْتَوْدِعُكُمُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا تَضِيعُ وَدَائِعُهُ
“I place you in the care of Allah, whose trust is never misplaced.”

May Allah grant all the Mu’tamirin an Umrah Maqbūl, bless their efforts, and accept their prayers. May He keep them safe on their journey and return them to their loved ones enriched in faith. Āmīn.

May Allah grant every traveler the opportunity to stand humbly before His magnificent House, the Baitullah, and visit the blessed resting place of His Most Beloved, our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. For those still yearning, we pray that Allah opens the doors of this sacred journey for you soon, ameen.

*As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh*

A greeting that contains so much Baraka and reverberates around the world. The impact of this greeting is not just in the one offering it but also in the response received. Alhamdulilah.

Traveling by bus en route from Makkah to Madinah, we reflected on the challenges our beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ endured, taking days to make this journey. So much was sacrificed for us to practice this beautiful Deen of Islam. Alhamdulilah.

Years ago, I often noticed, just before the Mew Way off-ramp on the N2, a simple yet profound message written in blue paint on a concrete wall:
*”Islam: A Way of Life.”*

In one of my first sermons as a Christian preacher, I even referenced this statement. Never did I imagine that one day I would have the privilege of visiting these Holy Lands of Makkah and Madinah.

Everywhere you look, minarets stand tall and beautiful. Everywhere you walk, people are in a constant state of Ibadah (worship):
"La Ilaha illAllah,"
"Bismillahi Allahu Akbar,"
"Labbayka Allaahumma labbayk, labbayka laa shareeka laka labbayk, inna al-hamd wa’n-ni‘mata laka wa’l-mulk, laa shareeka lak."

Time here is not governed by a clock but by the Adhaan (call to prayer). The moment it is heard, everything shifts—people pause their activities and focus entirely on worshiping Allah (SWT).

I can now echo that hand-painted statement I once saw:
*Islam is indeed a Way of Life.*

May our intentions and actions always be sincere and noble.
May we continually reflect on the sacrifices made for us to practice this beautiful Deen.
May we send Salawat on our beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
May we keep one another in our duas for the sake of Allah (SWT).
May we always reflect on this universal greeting of As-Salaamu Alaikum, carrying it with Imaan as the greeting of Islam.

“The pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah are the guests of Allah. If they call upon Him, He responds to them, and if they seek His forgiveness, He forgives them.”

💎 Virtues of Performing Umrah 💎

فَإِنَّ الْعُمْرَةَ إِلَى الْعُمْرَةِ كَفَّارَةٌ لِمَا بَيْنَهُمَا

“Performing Umrah expiates the sins committed between it and the next Umrah.”
[Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1773]

Alhamdulillah, last night was truly unforgettable. Under the calm and starry skies, the Mu’tamirin visited the Hira Cultural Centre, a place that brings the story of the first revelation to life. Standing there, we were reminded of the immense sacrifice and dedication of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

From there, we took on the climb to Jabal Nur, where the Cave of Hira rests—a place that holds so much significance in our history. Walking in the footsteps of the Prophet ﷺ, under the cover of night, brought a sense of awe, reflection, and deep gratitude.

Moments like these remind us of the beauty and depth of our faith. May Allah accept this journey and allow it to leave a lasting impact on our hearts. Ameen.
