This takes place in the Willowmore district in the Eastern Cape.
This is an breeding herd of Giraffe and they have seen three new Giraffe born over the last two years. What an sight if you are the lucky person to witness the birth of a Giraffe in the wild!

Our tigers, Arabella and Raise, have lived together happily for over 5 years. Recently, they began showing signs that they both urgently want their own space, and we have made the decision to separate them for the safety and happiness of both tigers.
These two have been through very tough times together, including witnessing several other tigers they lived with at their previous home being brutally shot for the bone trade- A fate they narrowly escaped. For a long time, Raise had to act as Arabella's eyes because she was blind. A cataract surgery restored much of her sight, and improved both of their lives as she was able to move around independently for the first time.
Although having a companion is often a comfort for captive big cats, tigers are solitary in the wild, so it is natural for these two to show us signs that they no longer wish to live in the same space.
Arabella is currently in our enrichment camp but it is not a permanent solution, as we need that space for the enrichment of the other animals, and we must customize a new space that will be best suited for her.
Building a new tiger enclosure is a sudden and unexpected expense, and it is crucial for us to complete it as soon as possible! Our staff and volunteers have already begun clearing the area where the enclosure will be, and building plans are underway.
