WESTERN CAPE - Take a scenic cruise along Clarence Drive
Proclaimed in 1988 as South Africa's first Unesco Biosphere Reserve, the Kogelberg has incredibly complex biodiversity, including more than 1895 plant species. Birdlife is prolific, wild horses live in the wetlands, and whales can be seen offshore. There are day hikes and overnight trails, and the reserve is used by mountain bikers; permits are required for all activities.

Bounded by the Kogelberg in the east and projecting 7.5km into the sea, the reserve abuts the villages of Rooi Els, Pringle Bay, Hangklip, Betty’s Bay and Kleinmond. The entrance lies about 60km east of Cape Town between Betty's Bay and Kleinmond on Rte 44. You’ll need your own vehicle to visit.

The Hole in the Wall is one of the most interesting landmarks of the Wild Coast.

The cliff consists of dark-blue shales, mudstone and sandstones of the Ecca Group, dating back some 260 million years. These rocks were subsequently intruded by a dolerite sheet. The “hole” was created over millions of years by erosion of the buffeting waves and the flow of the river, which eroded the softer rocks underneath the dolerite to form an arch. The same processes also eventually separated the cliff from the mainland.

It stands before the mouth of the Mpako River and is the source of many legends. In the Xhosa language, this area is called esiKhaleni, which means ‘the place of sound’. Some say it’s because, under certain conditions, the waves slap the rocks with a resounding cracking sound, while it roars during storms.

ANGOLA
Africa
For most people, Angola is one of Africa’s last great travel mysteries. Despite its elemental landscapes and boom-bust oil-dependent economy, the country remains closed off to all but the most adventurous travellers thanks to stringent visa policies, high prices and a history that’s been more about war than peace.

TWO ADULT MALE NAMIB DESERT LIONS IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN!!

"waar is die leeu, die leeu is op die strand"

The Namib lions are so special. They live with no water, only blood from a kill. Then of course farmers shoot em. Strong lions, saw two females bring down a giraffe on the world's tallest sand dune.
