Now that the 245 days of January are almost behind us, we can start planning for all the fun things happening in Clarens in the next few months!

First up, we have the National Beer Day festivities at Clarens Brewery this weekend! Don't miss their amazing beer and food specials, live music, and more on 1 February.

There's two great events taking place in Golden Gate National Park. First up is the Birding Weekend from 7 to 9 Feb and then the first ever Dino Challenge MTB and Trail Run on the 8th of March. The marathon is taking place on that same Saturday, and this year, Fouriesburg is hosting the event.

February is the month of love, and many restaurants and accommodations in Clarens are celebrating with specials. Keep a lookout for more on that! There's also a cheese making course at Dunelm Guest Farm on Valentine's weekend that's not to be missed. Dunelm Gasteplaas

One of the biggest events on our village calendar is taking place on Friday 28 Feb and Saturday 1 March... jip, it's time for the annual Clarens Craft Beer Festival. To those who are lucky enough to have secured tickets and accommodation, enjoy the festival! You can expect a massive and delicious selection of beers, ciders, and more from the top breweries around the country, as well as awesome live music, yummy food, and a great vibe.

We need everyone's cooperation! Please help us avoid running out of water.

The water situation in Clarens has reached a critical point.

We urge all vistors to please use water as sparingly as possible! Take this opportunity to leave the dishes, skip the shower (we don't mind if you are a little dirty) and leave your car a bit dusty.

We have about 3 days' water left until we reach day 0. Hopefully the municipality makes a plan to get the boreholes pumping in the next day or two and it rains A LOT before 31 December.

We know the situation is not ideal and we apologise in advance! Thanks for all the residents and vistors who have really made a concerted effort to save as much water as possible.

Little Explorers is open again today! If your kids are with you in Clarens but you want to go on a lunch date, on a hike, for a massage or peaceful shopping for an hour or two, drop them off at Little Explorers. It's safe and they get to play and have fun!

Our village needs your help!

We have extremely limited water at the moment due to maintenance on the Lesotho Hoogland Scheme water supply. We emplore all visitors and residents to Clarens to please use water as sparingly as possible.

Easy ways to help:

Please take very short stop-start showers where you close the tap while washing your hair and body. The alternative is to take a very shallow bath.

Use water collected from the shower to flush toilets. Don't flush after every visit.

Don't have your car washed.

Don't water gardens and reuse towels multiple times.

We appreciate your help in ensuring that we don't get to DAY ZERO.
