We can't help but feel extra grateful for the beautiful scenery that surrounds us here in Clarens when we look at the whimsical depictions of Mount Horeb, the Kloof Dam and other scenes from our village and surrounds by local artist Louise Hansen

She captures the essence of the Eastern Free State's beauty so magically.

We're going into this short week with hearts full of gratitude for everyone who came to visit our village over this Easter weekend. We hope you experienced some of the Clarens magic!

The annual Cannondale Maluti Double 90 will take place on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟱 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 in Clarens. Entries close today!

The Cannondale Maluti Double 90 challenge takes place over a scenic 180 km route, with 6 -12 riders per team. Apart from the incredible ride and stunning scenery, riders can expect discounts from sponsored brands, a free photo and a great goody bag this year which will be a custom shopper bag filled with custom socks, custom cycling casquette, branded luberetta, products from NamedSport and Sq**rt Barrier Balm valued at over R750 per rider.

It's the start of cosmos time in the eastern Free State and almost time for the annual Sandstone Cosmos Easter Festival.

An added attraction to this year's festival is the honey and mead conference presented by the Free State Beekeeping Association from the 17th to 19th April.

Throughout the Cosmos Festival there will be vendors selling Mead and Honey products and, on Saturday 19th April at 16h30, a Mead Tasting Event will be open to the all our visitors for a small R20 fee. The best Mead from the Conference will also be judged to find the winner. It sounds like lots of fun so make sure you visit the Honey and Mead vendor stalls when you visit the Sandstone Cosmos Festival 2025.
