Our village needs your help!

We have extremely limited water at the moment due to maintenance on the Lesotho Hoogland Scheme water supply. We emplore all visitors and residents to Clarens to please use water as sparingly as possible.

Easy ways to help:

Please take very short stop-start showers where you close the tap while washing your hair and body. The alternative is to take a very shallow bath.

Use water collected from the shower to flush toilets. Don't flush after every visit.

Don't have your car washed.

Don't water gardens and reuse towels multiple times.

We appreciate your help in ensuring that we don't get to DAY ZERO.

Meet Kantinyana Johannes Mofokeng - better known as Kent. Born and raised in Clarens, he is the youngest of 7 siblings and owns JAVA BAE Coffee Shop, which is situated next to the Jacket Shop. Kent has a passion for coffee and he loves interacting with his patrons and having conversations outside his shop, set against the backdrop of a magnificent view of Horeb. Kent won the Diners Club Barista of the year in 2023 and will be making his delicious coffee on the square at the Festival of Flavours on Saturday 23 November 2024.
