Hiking the Wild Coast

Hiking the Wild Coast is one of the most unique experience you can do in South Africa. You will experience a diverse mix of wide open hills, long pristine beaches, local Xhosa villages and some of the most spectacular wildlife in South Africa. Winter through to spring is Whale season and its one of the few land based whale viewing sites, the clifftops and hills create a great vantage point to view

the mothers and their calves. If you are lucky enough to be around when the cold currents push the sardines up the coast you will witness one of the world's greatest coastal events. Dolphins, whales, gannets, sharks and other predators all come together to take advantage of the sardines trapped between the warm coastal waters and the coastline. It is an experience not to be missed and can be viewed during your hike. There is an amazing diversity of plant and animal life along the coastline and as you dip into river valleys or wander along the hills you will have close contact with it all. Your guides are often just showing you the way but some will give you a glimpse into the culture, food and way of life in the area.
