Did you know that Langa is the oldest of the African townships about 97 years old. Many people think Langa means son. If this was the case the Xhosa people would call it elangeni, in fact they call it Kwa-Langa which indicate a reference to a human being. Langa was a Hlubi chief who arrived in Cape Town around 1876. He was unjustly imprisoned on Robben Island by the British authorities and later confined in a nearby farm called Uitfligt. The name Langa commemorate the people’s hero👌

Did you know that Gordon’s bay is the smallest of the three town in the Helderberg region? Above the harbour on the mountainside is a giant anchor & letter GB. Many think that stand for Gordon’s Bay in fact it stand for General Botha which was the original name of the naval station in the town.
