Well it is after all ‘Fish P**n Friday’…! While our farms offer stunning walks in pristine veld, wild flowers and absolute solitude, our fishing is of course next level.
Scientifically managed fisheries with some of the best water quality in the Eastern Transvaal. Fish stocked as fingerlings that never see a pellet again in their lives and a long closed season through the warm summer months produces incredibly strong, perfectly conditioned trophy browns and rainbows.

Great posting growing teenagers, their embarrassing baby pics. So this rainbow was stocked into Trout Valley Upper as a fingerling in December 2020. 3 years down the line caught him and indentified the generation from his angular cut adiapose fin.
Incredible to think what this fish must have gone through in those 3 years!
We close our waters in the warm summer months but heavy rain and the surface temp dropping below 17 degrees means the owners will have the occasional cast for quality control purposes only of course!

A trout double cheeseburger… the husk of a large dragon fly larvae, the adult version of which has successfully hatched out. These large prey items are loved by big trout cruising the weeded shallows of our pristine stillwaters - “Mmmmm delicious”

A senior guide will be in attendance during all fishing sessions on our waters. They will assist with techniques and valuable seasonal insight into the waters, ensure fish are handled and released properly and also record valuable fish details.

Trout Valley’s three dams are fed by extensive wetlands on the property unaffected by runoff from other properties or development and provide an excellent variety of depth and sunlight pe*******on, maximising invertebrate life and habitat for the trout. There are islands, solid earth access points, hardwood casting jetties, steps, and a wrought-iron bridge over the spillway.
