Came across this beautiful Lioness lazing in a Sausage tree, and a lost Thompsons Gazelle came trotting in under the tree. The Lioness woke up to late but at least we got to see her sit up, come down and pay some interest. Never a dull moment on safari. Got To Love Africa

Today, I lost a friend of 25 years, a mentor and a all round great man. Many of you will have met Pat over the years as he did many of our Battlefield and Zulu Culture tours for us. He was in many ways, an important part of my business and my life. He taught me how to absail, he taught me so much about the various battlefields and he was our Old Bill at our MOTHS club but that was just a title, as he will always be our Sargent Major. He called a spade a spade no matter how much it offened you, and for that and so many other reasons, I will miss my friend.
I am sure he is happy to have his leg back and is noboubt ordering St Peter around up there. To his family, my condolences, love, and prayers.
We will remember him. Rest now Pat, Until we meet again. Our Diamond in the rough.

Ngorongoro Crater is one of those iconic wildlife spots that just never disappoints. This cell phone Pic of a majestic elephant is only enhanced by the landscape of the crater. I thought I had captured a helicopter over the elephant but was surprised when I zoomed in. Got to Love Africa.

In the Serengeti, we experienced very heavy rains, which caused a small lake to overflow into the road. This Hammerkop got himself a nice catfish, which took a while to swallow. Never a dull moment while of safari. Got to Love Africa
Off to Zanzibar. It's a tough life.
Today, we had our picnic lunch in the middle of the great migration. In any direction you looked there where Wildebeest as far as you could see into the horizon. They moved off kindly to give us a space for our blankets (about 100m). All picnics will be measured against this one forever after. Got to Love Africa

What a fantastic two weeks of battlefields. 17 guests joined this custom designed tour, with the idea of spending two weeks exploring the Boer War sites in Northern SA, along with a few other battlefields from Anglo Zulu War.
It was a great success and all enjoyed it, making use of 6 Specialist guides to get the perfect mix of knowledge and experience.

What a year this has been starting off with the same uncertainty as we have seen in the past two years, but 8 countries later and over 6 months of back to back safaris we have come out stronger than ever.
I would like to thank everyone of you, for standing by us during Covid. Without your support we would not have made it, but thanks to everyone one of you, who I consider to be part of our safari family, we did.
From our first "off Africa" trip to Antarctica, which went so well were about to announce the next trip in summer or 2024/2025, to our annual Great Migration Photography experience to the many private safaris we have done, I feel so blessed and so very greatfull for you all.
I will chat more about this year and the next year in our next newsletter which I hope to have out soon in the new year.
So until then please accept from the bottom of our heart our thanks and wishes for you all to have the very best Christmas. I know we will.

Well we went to the white continent, we braved the dreaded Drake (twice) and explored the Antarctic taking in all it would offer, and boy did it offer us a few very special treats. I cant think on anything other than perhaps a Blue Whale I had on my wish list that was not achieved in style. From Orcas (killer whales) playing around our ship to not one or two but at least 11 humpback whales at close quarters while on zodiacs. Penguins galore seals from Leopard to Antarctic Fur Seals and everything in between. Weather was a blue skies and flat seas. Were already talking to the ship for our second trip that will be in the summer of 2024/2025 so two years from now. What a trip, hope you enjoy a few photos off my phone. As there are plenty to come.

This pride of Lions was amazing to watch. We were lucky enough to get about 2m away from them and had the full effect of sight, sound, smell and taste if you were brave enough. Young cubs are stalking and chasing Hooded Vultures and the big Male has eaten his Lion share and was doing his best to have an afternoon nap. Just a pity about the 2 way radio in the background.
Well you saw the Cheetah on the front of our car. This is the one that joined me in the back. Safari with BushBaby Safaris anything can happen.
