You will regularly see the monkeys indulging in the fruits of their natural habitat. Kick back and enjoy sundowners and a BBQ where the magnificent, unobstructed view of the sparkling Indian Ocean greets you. Watch the whales and dolphins as they frequently swim by. The communal swimming pool provides a cool and welcoming relief on the hottest of days, and is a wonderful distraction for children. The distinct lack of main roads or train lines adds to the tranquility of The Spot. Direct access to the unspoiled beach begs for long lazy walks. Surfing and fishing from the rocks are a favorite past time. The Spot is within easy walking distance to the main swimming beach, which is protected by shark nets, has full time lifeguards and a tidal pool. Controlled access and 24-hour patrol of the premises ensures your safe living and parking within the complex. Catch the latest movie, go ice-skating or ten-pin bowling at the Galleria Shopping Mall. Head to Ushaka Marine World or enjoy a day trip to Tala Game Reserve just 50 km inland. Treat yourself to a game of golf at any one of the nearby Golf Estates. Croc World provides fun and education at the same time. If you enjoy a variety of cuisines why not try a crocodile burger in their restaurant. Stuck in South Africa for 4 months because of the ban on international travel. I could not imagine a better place to be quarantined. The Spot was a comfortable luxury. Waking up overlooking the ocean every morning and sitting on the deck watching the sunset every evening - counting those things we were grateful each day.

THE tunnel which links Warner Beach to the beach, initiated by My Sapphire CommUnity as a community project, is in the final stage of repair and has now become a popular route for pedestrians who used to avoid the area in the past for safety reasons.
South Coast artist, Lee Smuts, who has done similar projects such as decorating the bridge in Umkomaas, completed the artwork initiated by local artists on Heritage Day last year. It features ocean and seascape scenes.
“I wanted to create the feeling of someone walking on the sand towards the ocean. In that way a person that cannot walk on the sand can experience it. The little dolphins represent the big underwater,” Smuts said.
She added that she wished the Sapphire Coast and Aliwal Shoal would take such pride in their environment and do something to fix up the Umkomaas bridge, which is in a state of disrepair and presents a danger to pedestrians, with metal hanging off the roof and huge blocks of concrete falling onto the pavement and road.
A new watchman hut at the entrance to Mills Bomb Shell Hole contributes to the safety of the area and there is a day guard and a night guard at times.
“My Sapphire CommUnity needs more volunteers and support to complete and maintain this community upliftment project,” says Barrett Neilson, My Sapphire CommUnity project manager.
“In order for this project to be a success, we need to sustain what we have done through continued maintenance of the area.
“The final major painting project is the completion of the world flags on the walls. After that, we as a community need to ensure that the area doesn’t become overgrown with weeds and undergrowth, which will attract the type of people who were here before the project started.”
