Not seeing an elephant in the Hluhluwe region of is impossible at the moment. You are more likely to see an elephant than an impala. A number of breeding herds have descended in the area around Magangeni, Maphumulo, and Memorial Gate. If you were in that area yesterday afternoon, you witnessed something special. Elephants surrounded the area for miles, vocalising and showing their strength in numbers🐘

The Vumbe males tried their luck hunting three times within 15 minutes. First was a half-hearted attempt at a buffalo. Following that, was this sequence trying to take down a warthog. He slipped off the back of the warthog and went straight after a zebra just to the left. All attempts were unsuccessful, and everyone lived to fight another day! 🦁🐃🦓
