We travel further towards Nhlangano on a scenic route where crossing every hill opens up a new vista. Exit eSwatini at the Onverwacht border post. Now in Zululand, travel southwards to Hluhluwe and arrive at our private lodge for check-in. Then we embark on another exciting open vehicle safari this afternoon. We return for a well-deserved dinner and overnight. Overnight Zulu Nyala Game Lodge (Breakfast and dinner included).

The African Elephant is the largest living mammal in the World but is sadly also among one of the most endangered species in the World 😔

The African Elephant is sadly endangered due to poaching for the international ivory trade and also habitat loss 🌿

The presence of African elephants helps to maintain suitable habitats for many other species which may require elephants to help with dispersal and germination. 💪

Springtime is jacaranda time for Pretoria and a few parts of Johannesburg, and just one look at the majestic trees is sure to lift your mood 🦄 These are well worth a visit if you happen to be in the country!

But did you know that jacarandas are not indigenous to our country, and are actually from South America? 🤔

It is also illegal to plant new jacaranda trees because of their alien status, but we are sure any South African would be outraged if they were to be removed from our beautiful country! 💜

"Words can't describe how wonderful Southern Circles was. My friend and I recently got back from a 3 day Kruger Park tour followed by a 3 day Garden Route tour from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. Our guides, Taki and Barry were incredible. We were the only two on both tours. This gave us the flexibility to travel at our leisure and customize the suggested itineraries to meet our needs. Prior to our trip, Debbie was extremely communicative. She even booked us a great guest house stay in Port Elizabeth between our tours. We did a ton of research prior to embarking on the safari and Southern Circle was not only a reasonably priced but truly exceptional."

Thank you for the testimonial Erinn 🙌

The Chimpanzee, which is only found in Africa and shares over 98% of our DNA, has been endangered since 1996 and regionally extinct in Gambia, Burkina Faso, Benin, and Togo.
The main threats to their population are caused by poaching, destruction and degradation of natural habitats and infectious diseases.

To find out how you can help or take action, support the Jane Goodall Institute by making a donation, volunteering, or become a chimpanzee guardian at their Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center.
