🌊 An Unforgettable Day on the MSC Euribia in Durban! 🌊

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to step aboard the MSC Euribia, a truly stunning ship named after the ancient goddess Eurybia, who harnessed the winds, weather, and constellations to master the seas.

Launched in February, this impressive ship can carry over 6,000 passengers and offers an experience unlike any other. The public spaces are spectacular, with 5 swimming pools and one of the largest waterparks at sea – ideal for fun-seekers of all ages! For those craving relaxation, the spa offers a blissful sanctuary of wellness.

The Galleria is a sight to behold, with the longest LED dome at sea casting a mesmerizing glow over the main promenade, which is lined with specialty restaurants and shops. There’s truly something for everyone on board!

🌞Discovering La Spezia, Porto Venere, and Cinque Terre🌞

One of my favourite stops on our cruise was La Spezia, where we took an unforgettable excursion to Porto Venere and Cinque Terre, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Our journey began in Porto Venere, arriving at its breathtaking harbour lined with vibrant, colourful houses. Walking through the narrow medieval streets, we climbed from the ancient city gate up to the stunning Doria Castle and the Church of San Pietro. Just below this we viewed Byron's Cave, where Lord Byron once swam in the shimmering sea.

My highlight here was tasting the best pesto and focaccia we've ever had from charming little shops tucked into the village walls!
Next, we sailed along the rugged Italian Riviera, soaking in the sights of the Cinque Terre villages clinging to steep terraces, vineyards, and harbours filled with fishing boats. The beauty of the colourful houses from the water was magical. Although there were quite a few people, it didn’t take away from the charm!

We ended the day at Monterosso with a much-needed cold Aperol Spritz🍹, a delicious lunch🍝, and of course, gelato 🍦to cool off from the scorching heat. It was another scorching day, and after exploring the village, we were more than ready to return to the cool comfort of the ship.

A day filled with history, beauty, and delicious food—truly an experience to remember!
