About: Team
In January 2012, for the love of adventure Warren changed course away from the riches of corporate culture and embarked on several journeys all over the world with only a bicycle and whatever else he could carry. Always on the journey looking for different self sufficiency projects, a chance encounter revealed the beautiful Rocky Drift Private Nature Reserve and with the blessing of t
he owner Warren initiated a brand new project and with a volunteer team to put years of research into practice. It became known as the Rocky Drift Project which has since brought the abandoned hiker huts in the reserve back to life and provided the foundation for Vwa Yoga retreats. Vincent Vanmunster of Belgium arrived in late 2016 and initiated the idea of hosting exclusive retreats for yoga enthusiasts from all over the world. The rise in popularity of this ancient eastern practice is a global phenomenon and it is the perfect focus for the beautiful setting available in the valley. Vincent has travelled the world extensively and has returned to South Africa several times for his love of the culture, the land and the people. Having owned a personal training business in Belgium it allowed him the understanding of his clients need to have a healthy body, lifestyle and point of view of the world. Through his own striving for the ultimate personal practice, Yoga presented itself as a preferable practice towards well being of the mind, body and the soul. About: Vision
When we look at the world and we look at ourselves, something becomes very self evident. The most important thing, in all that we see, is one’s own health and well being. Without that it matter not the riches, the beauty or the magnificence of all there is to see because the world out there is entirely dependent on our inner well being. It is our number one priority to discover a method and a practice and strive for these personal goals. There can be no greater goal, no greater striving than to master one’s own health and well being. Within this daily practice we hope to discover the keys to liberate us from the conventional, convenient world that has bound us in so many hidden forms of slavery. Our liberation is a mutual journey we wish to share with others and we believe the practice starts with Yoga. A simple daily routine that may enlighten the body, uplift the mind and release the spirit to achieve the unknown and perhaps to master the impossible.
