Last week Friday we finished our 2200km trip! As far as we can legally go.
It's taken a couple of days to sink in completely, but it feels crazy to think we started cycling in Cape Town and reached the Botswana border. On day 1 we left Cape Town in a typical Cape Storm. On day 5 we climbed Verlatenkloof Pass and in to the heart of the Karoo. On day 13 we crossed South Africa’s biggest river, the Orange River. On day 17 we crossed the Vaal River to leave the Free State. And on day 25 we reached the Limpopo River and the end of South Africa.
A massive shout out to my wife for the constant support and encouragement, .thomas84 for arranging all the logistics on the trip and my teammate who hadn't ridden a bicycle in 10 years, for powering through and making it a truly amazing experience.
