Say hello to our friend, Colombo!

Meet Colombo, a young adult male Southern Arctic Elephant Seal. Despite not yet developing his trunk, he’s already making waves along the South African coast. First spotted in Danabaai, then Pinnacle Point, he reappeared at Herolds Bay, Ballots Bay, and now Vic Bay. Identified by his blind left eye, Colombo is in a critical molting cycle. Seal expert Greg Hofmeyer emphasizes the importance of leaving him undisturbed. Let’s respect his space and ensure he can molt in peace. Please keep people and pets away from him.
